Mavericks limp out of Montreal, OWNER VIOLATED.

Montreal (cp)....The island city of Mount Real was no paradise for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. Confidence was high on the young Mavericks team as they strolled into Montreal to play the Rulers. But that confidence was shattered as they walked off the bus and into turmoil, it seems the rumors of brass knuckles had spread to Montreal. The rulers security detail, lead by Georges Laraque, met the Mavericks as they stepped off the bus, with hand held metal detectors.

Mavericks tough guy willYf said "it was like walking through customs at the airport, these guys did everything but strip search us with the rubber gloves".

The general consensus amongst coaches and management was "we held our own against a team that is the top of this league" said OC willyf. Defensive team leader Ernie Mcracken told a different tale," people keep saying we held our own, the only thing it feels like I'm holdin is my ass, after the rulers were kind enough to hand it to me, WHO SETS THESE SCHEDULES ANY HOW??!! , I wanna play the Toronto Red Devils.( http://goallineblitz.com/game/roster.pl?team_id=3486).

On a positive note Robert Mcknight had another big game, with 8 rec for 176yds and 2Td's. "I am a play maker get the ball in my hands, I will make plays!" , " when the hell did Bort shrink the field, those sidelines keep poppin up outta nowhere, how am I gonna get an endorsement when I don't have enough field to play on??!!

The Mavericks will regroup and prepare for the "other" Montreal team.
Owner Dan was unavailable for comment but he WAS overheard mumbling,
"damn metal detectors" and something about "they should really lude those rubber gloves first", as he walked off , loping like a hurdler.

Now that was hilarious!

Since my role on the Rulers barely qualifies me as a football player (I punt) one of my diversions from the rigors of pregame preparationHs is to monitor the security and concession staff before games.

In the case of the Mavericks visit, rumor has it that a few individuals may have been a bit more zealous in the application of techniques to ensure fair play than in the application of materials that might have smoothed the processing of the Mavericks players.

While I cannot speak for Rulers Management or our personnel department, nonetheless I feel compelled to point out that while certain regrettable violations have been hinted at, solid evidence of any invasive procedures is simply not on anyone's hands.
