Mavericks get first win in A3
Medicine Hat(CP).....today the Medicne Hat Mavericks notched their first win in "A" ball. Besting the Vancouver Northern Lights, in a closer game than the score might suggest.
Offensive player of the game, WR Robert Mcknight(one half of the mighty McKnight twins), was quoted as saying " they played us real tight, I was darn lucky to have 10 rec for 207 yds, if Bort would fix the damn drifting out of bounds bug I woulda had another TD"

OC Willyf gave him a game ball for his efforts, despite his running out of bounds like a kicker.
Owner Dan was happy with the win, but knows "wins will be hard to come by up here in A3, we ain't in BBB any more. Every team in this league is capable of beating us. But rest assured we will not sleep til this team is in the upper echelon of "A" Ball teams. But for now I will settle for a week 12 victory, against ....you know who."
Next week the Mavericks travel to Montreal to play the rulers, which is bound to be a beat down for the Mavs.
There is no truth to the rumor that owner Dan will be passing out brass knuckles on the bus ride.
