Games to Watch
Uluru Rockies @ Melbourne Gators
The Rockies & Gators are not Strangers and the Rockies know very well what it means to win big and lose big. Right now, looking at the possibility of going 0-3 to start the season this very well may classify as a 'Must Win' Game in terms of momentum for the Rockies, while their statistical rankings may be considerably low their ability to compete and their talent level, in my opinion, are not. They can compete with the best of them despite getting off to a slow start. With the Gators, they too know what it means to win big and lose big. The Gators are not in quite the dire situation as the Rockies but each game is equally important, also not ranked at the top in statistical categories, that does not take away from the capabilities of the Gators, this is definitely a game to watch and could be the tone setter for the underrated Zeta Teams.
Rapid City Rebels @ Mauna Kea Chenabogs
Rapid City, is going to be looking to rebound from the torturous beating they took from possibly the best team in OAA2 (Florida Frenzy) last week. Do not let that beating allow you to write off the Rebels. This team is the real deal and can still compete at a high level they have all the tools and the motivation, when they meet the Chenabogs, expect them to put all of that onto the field at once, fueled by the 'fury' of a frenzied defeat. The Chenabogs have gotten off to a great start, while they do need to step it up on Defense, they have done enough to survive and that is what matters, their offense has been lighting up scoreboards and we could see another round of that this week if the Rebels have a frenzy-Fueled hangover.
Somoa Pirahna Monkeys @ Vero Renegades
SPM, obviously has gotten off to the start that they've wanted, everyone already knew what SPM brought to the table and they have yet to disappoint. They have absolutely decimated people with their defense and do not overlook that snapjaw offense either. They have the the bite, but can they make the Renegades their next victim? The Renegades, obviously disappointed with their start, could very possibly make this game their turn around, if there is one game to make a statement within, its this one. Led by QB Pu Ping, this team is going to be looking to fire on all cylinders to start what could be a miraculous comeback. Stay tuned this one could be the 'underrated underdog game of the week'.
Johnston Atoll Americans @ Darwin Mud Crabs
JAA has been lighting up the scoreboard with their offense despite having dropped a game to OAA2's best. Outside of the Frenzy, which everyone has had trouble with, they've shown their ability to fire on all cylinders frequently. They face a team this week that can do so likewise. But JAA is no stranger to stiff competition and will have to look for their defense to step it up this week to close this game out. The Mud Crabs are led by an underrated Defense and a high powered offense, that has already proven its quick strike ability. They are no doubt, and rightfully so, going to look to close this game out early. But they need to watch out, JAA is a stiff competitor and isn't going to take it lying down. No doubt in my mind this is the 'Balanced Game of the Week."
*Game of the Week*
Rockhampton Norsemen @ Newcastle Ghosts
After a well played win over the OJR and a tough loss to SPM, the Norsemen have got to put all the things they did right onto the field this week. They have shown some flash ability to play well when executing, this week against a high caliber opponent, they are going to have to execute on every single play. The Ghosts took it to the Pirates and then became Victim to the Predators. They've shown, against teams like Cook Island & Williamsport, to have the ability to play big, and against the Norsemen, in a 1-1 shootout they are going to have to do that this week. This game could easily go either way but its going to come down to which team makes the fewest mistakes. If you miss it, it's your loss!
