1. (0) Newcastle Nightmare 1-0

The Nightmare crushed an Alpha team that is rated better than every team in Zeta. That is not a good sign for the rest of Zeta. To nit pick, it's not a great sign that their completion percentage was under 50% but their ground game more than made up for that. It looks like there will be quite a few Nightmare players highlighting the Pro Bowl this season and none will be more qualified than their HB Runnin' Loose. We'll see how far ahead they are of everyone else when they take on one of the tougher Zeta teams in week 2.

2. (0) Mannheim Sharks Profi 1-0

The good news is the Sharks picked up a nice out of conference win, the bad news it the talent gap between the team they just beat by 81 is the same distance they are behind their week 2 opponent. On the positive side, WR Holy Shift put up huge numbers to open the season and the Sharks look like they will be a tough team to beat by anyone not from Newcastle. They'll have a chance to see where they rank against the rest of the league in week 3 when they take on the number 3 team in the rankings. I am looking forward to that game a lot more than these weeks beat down.

3. (0) Jersey Mammoths 1-0

The Mammoths faced and beat the best out of conference team out of the top 8 in the rankings. The Zombies will be playoff bound in Alpha and Jersey won by 17. Even though they put up 448.5 total yards in the game, they didn't quite seem to have their rhythm. Their talent would indicate a smoother passing game but their completion percentage was below 50. Look for them to find that mojo this weak as they take on the hapless Indy Colts. Hopefully that will be the tune-up they need to get ready for their big match-up with the Sharks in week 3.

4. (0) Indianapolis Stampede 1-0

I wasn't kidding when I said they'd have a strong rushing attack. They put up 682.5 yards on the ground albeit against the lowly Spider Pigs. They will continue to put up those kind of numbers in the next three weeks before they possibly meet some in the new look Hellboys. Realistically they should be undefeated until they are truly tested in week 7 by the Matadors.

5. (0) Madrid Matadors

Some moves have been made but is their chemistry going to prevent them from capitalizing on their talent? So far so good, they were able to hold onto a win at home in week 1. In week 2, they take on the Pride who are almost identical in their rating to the Mighty Dukes, the Matadors' week 1 opponent. It will be interesting to see if they can keep the ball rolling against another quality team.

6. (0) Budapest Tizenhetedikkerület 1-0

Budapest was able to roll against a bad Alpha team in week 1. They have a CPU team up next, so expect them to stay undefeated. They put up big numbers on both sides of the ball but that is not that impressive against the team that they did it against. The bigger concern is that they gave up 27 points to a crappy team. In week three they take on the Hellboys, so we'll see if their talent is going to be indicative of their level of play or if they'll underachieve like last season.

7. (0) Nashua Pride 1-0

Starting 1-0 is always important when you could potentially be borderline to make the playoffs. A win in week 2 against the Matadors would make them significantly less borderline. They haven't been able to accomplish that feat in the first two seasons of their existence, so we'll see if they'll be able to break that trend here in season three. It is a tall order, but their chemistry will definitely help them out.

8. (0) Natal Hellboys 1-0

Nice win to start the season and they should be able to stretch it to 2 in a row. Beyond that it will be tough though as they are seriously out classed by Budapest in week 3. It will be interesting to see if they attempt to bring their overall talent level up to try to catch up to the rest of the league or if they are satisfied with what they've got. The eighth seed looks like it is theirs to lose though, so we'll see what they've got.
