Two excellent matchups here to close out the regular season. Stats given are league overall ranking.

Alpha Conference: #2 Swedish Glaciers (14-1-0) at #1 Bayou Bandits (15-0-0)

Game Quick Stats

Swedish:

Rush Offense: 4th
Pass Offense: 12th
Pass Defense: 4th
Rush Defense: 3rd

Bayou:
Rush Offense: 1st
Pass Offense: 1st
Pass Defense: 1st
Rush Defense: 4th

Quick Rundown:
Sure, the Swedish Glaciers don't put up quite as gaudy offensive numbers as the Bandits, but they do boast the league's top HB(by total yards) in Keysr Soze. This monster has a mind-blowing 3680 yards so far on the season and 243 broken tackles. On the other side, you have the two-headed monster of Blitz McKreig and JJ Jevas, who have combined for over 6500 rushing yards so far this season. Sure, both teams like their air attack as well, but this game will be won and lost on the ground. Look for the team who can consistently produce results in the ground game to come away from this matchup with a win.

Prediction:
Haha, yeah right. I'm not calling this one.

Zeta Conference: #2 Munich Owls (14-1-0) at #1 Leavenworth Inmates (15-0-0)

Game Quick Stats

Munich:

Rush Offense: 11th
Pass Offense: 4th
Pass Defense: 14th
Rush Defense: 8th

Leavenworth:
Rush Offense: 2nd
Pass Offense: 16th
Pass Defense: 5th
Rush Defense: 1st

Quick Rundown:
Don't let that 16th-ranked pass offense fool you. Leavenworth is dangerous both on the ground and in the air on offense, averaging 8.4 yards/attempt (6th in league). Munich is going to have to focus heavily on the run on this one, so the key factor to watch in this one will be if Munich can still contain the big pass plays while clamping down on Leavenworth's nigh unstoppable run attack. On the other side, it's a question of consistency: Munich's offense will need to give its defense all the help it can get. Chances are, they won't spend much of this game on the field, so they will need to use their time well and put up points quickly without turning the ball over to a very opportunistic defense.

Prediction:
I don't like how this one adds up for Munich. Too many variables here to keep track of, too many ifs. Their offense will have to do too much with too little time, and their defense will have to keep up with an offense accustomed to grinding down defenses for 4 full quarters. Munich holds on, but ultimately won't be able to last in the second half. Inmates pick up some big plays later in the game, making a largely close game look like a blowout and come out with a two-touchdown victory.

Excellent observations. Our scouting report on Leavenworth is nearly identical. Dominate run game and a very well equipped pass game. Defensively they do everything right and we have our hands full. Best of luck Leavenworth, I'm sure you won't need it though!

Good game Munich. Good luck in the playoffs! I'm not saying that upsets can't happen, but we are anxiously looking forward to seeing the rematch between you and Valencia. loldots v. Wicklow should be a good one too.

I definitely look forward to another match up with Valencia or Greater Lisbon if we can get past the Sicilian Centurions. We can't afford to over look anyone though, so we will take our first playoff game very seriously. If we get another chance to play Valencia, I'm sure it will be a great game like the first one was.

As for you guys, you look to have this conference locked up. Nobody relaly challenged you guys from the get go. I'd love to have another shot at game planning against you guys though. Maybe we can come closer than within 50 next time.

Playoffs are a bitch. Its all those teams I made special gameplans for during the regular season so we could beat them, now back for more.

Shouldn't one win be enough? =P
