I was actually talking about my QB, which isn't on NBK anymore.
As far as dumping the players for higher levels, I did to a certain degree. However, most of the players that I replaced were my own and my GMs. Out of those players, we replaced most with our own players (GMs). Don't get me wrong, there were a couple of players I let go that I felt bad about; however, I did what was needed to keep the team competitive.
Edit: I went ahead and glanced at my championship game roster, and there was a total of 7 agents that were associated with the team that are not anymore. 2 of those were 'rentals' that were only on NBK to replace an agent that was banned. That is not that bad of a turn over, imo.
yeah i know you were talking about your qb, that's why i said it was a shame you dropped him for a higher level. the really well built teams have success regardless of a level gap in higher leagues, and nbk was a really well built team. maybe your qb was garbage though, i dunno
for example: http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=4392
that team was a season 4 expansion in SA A#1 along with the team that most of PF's agents came from. he lost in the championship in a fluke game against another VERY good team (that is now tearing up the pro leagues, http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=4383), and since then have gone 49-0, absolutely dominating well built teams that outlevel them by 5+ levels on average. all of this without replacing a single player from what they started season 4 with
now that's kind of an extreme example since it's a one man team but i still think you would have been the favorites to win it all in A#1 with your team from last season
Yes, I am familiar with Tautology. You may not have noticed, but the team that beat Mach Pichu is ran by a couple of my GMs, Taurran and Stout (I don't think it was a fluke, The Waxers are an awesome team). In addition, I GM for 2 teams that were season 4 expansion teams that are in Pro leagues right now ( Mayan Prophecy and PPC).
I don't doubt that my team would have had a chance to win the league with the same roster as last season, however, it would have been extremely difficult. On top of the difficulty of winning the league, you must also keep in mind that we did not have any home playoff games last season. Therefore, it is absolutely crucial to the long term success of my team that we get playoff revenue this season.
Either way, my team is very much the same team that it was last season. And I plan on keeping that nucleus from the season 6 team together for a long time. To keep the same exact team would've been very, very difficult. It would've been silly not to upgrade. All promoted teams were given the difficult decision; keep what worked and hope for the best or bring in some new blood. I brought in 6-7 high level guys. Some replaced my guys that I designated to special teams for the team. Overall I ended up trading probably 5 guys. It sucks, but at the end of the day, you've gotta compete.
Ground & Pound didn't get any higher level players. We blew them out by 40+ or so (can't remember) and they sold their team a couple hours later.
You need to in order to compete seriously. A level 25 doesn't fair that well against a high 37, especially across the board.
LLK is looking to win it all this year though. It's the team's last season. I'd love to see another NBK / LLK final, except this time have no AI mistakes for both teams.
