i have to say that this is a good season overall for our conference. every year so far there have been several cupcakes to play and/or the top teams simply automatically beat the team below them and so forth down the line. but this season teams are beating one team and losing to others that team beat. it's much more interesting.

i like this so much better than previous seasons. there are definitely top teams, but everyone else seems to be tough even if they haven't seen it in victories yet. game planning seems to matter more than ever and i hope it continues that way.

I agree. Even though the Jacks have been winning, I've been having to gameplan just about everyone because withotu doing that someone would get the upset I'm sure

Lion was the tougher conference, by far, in season 5 in the A#5. Some of us got shafted and sent up early last season because of Bort's moronic re-shuffle. Those that stayed behind did very well. Now we're almost all back up here together and you're seeing the results.

Ghana
Serp Eagles
Richards Bay
Quicama
Silverbacks
Alexandria Greats
Ratels

We were all in there together in A5 Lion. African Fever and Gabon Glocks will be coming up next season as well. That was a fun ass Conference and season altogether.

that was a tough conference in single A. the last three seasons i have been a GM in various AA leagues have been very disparate. the top teams just killed the bottom. the bad teams were horrible and the middle teams either were crushed or crushed the bad teams. last season in this conference we went 7-9 winning what we should and losing, badly, to who we should.

this league is well balanced. when the relegation happens next off-season, the teams moving down from AAA won't have it easy with whoever is left. there will be some quite good teams left.

right now, my feelings haven't change as to who the best three were at the start of the season, the tanzania's x 2 and pangani. but there are so many tough teams that are just a play or three away from upsets. most everyone game plans well. you can't take anybody for granted. the thing you have to remember, the new teams are learning each week just like we did last year. at the end of the season we were game planning much better already prepping for the next season.

and i think the thing that impresses me most is the builds. just watching and scouting some teams you can tell the builds are great. sometimes i just want to pm some guys and see what they did with their builds, but you know they aren't going to tell. you.

maybe bort knew the change would sort itself out after a couple seasons or maybe this AA league is pure luck. but whatever it is i hope it continues because this is way more fun. and way more frustrating at times. now if he could just post the between game tweaks he does so we don't game plan for something that was fixed or worse broken even more.

AA #3 as a whole has always been a very fun league. We've always had a couple of top teams, and last season was a bit unbalanced because except for the Greats there were only a few real top teams. This season I think we are really seeing how as time goes the diference in level matters less as well.

Last season it was level 35ish against level 25ish

This year it is level 40ish against level 30 ish and you are seeing some of the lower level, yet strong builds are paying off more

This.

If GLB gave the option t create "dynasty" leagues that don't participate in the promotion process, this is the bunch I would nominate.

Oh, and Comoros is looking good, and it looks like the Skeeters may finally have turned the corner. Although the competition ain't what it was the first two seasons, you can't shrug off their success to date, and it's good to see they've stuck it out and built themselves up.

also add another A5 graduate the Mozambique Chiefs who sadly went the way of the cpu. A5 Lion was far and away the toughest conference i've ever been involved with. and also the funnest. this season has been a blast. the worst record of any A5 Lion is 3-5, which is not a bad record at all

Yeah I was thinking of Zimbabwe until I saw the slow build it has become. Shame, they were tough and on the cusp of being an elite tier team.

Yeah... A5 Lion in the expansion season had 10 solid to great teams, especially for the levels. And they came in 5-game gauntlets. It was the most intense - and fun - season I've had to date. This one here comes awfully close.

It really is too bad the Chiefs and the Dragons went CPU - they were well-run, talented teams. Having gone CPU is why I didn't mention them, I guess.

i think the next few seasons are going to be quite good here in africa. we may see all of us in AAA in a few seasons. some of the teams that went up last season are really well managed. if everyone here avoids going CPU and the AAA teams do, it will be quite good.

I concur. When I think back, it was a running joke about the Lion vs Elephant conference. We had good teams and good jabs at one another. Alexandria was annoying, but I guess it gave us a common target. I somehow remember doing the weekly standings. I must have been young with a lot of time on my hands. Oh wait...That was only a few months back...seems longer.
