I don't know if this statement is true or not but early results this season would make you think about it a little. It seems that the home team has been coming out victorious when the game is close and the teams are equal or one has a slight advantage.

Take a look at the tough games you have lost against equal or greater opponents. Those games have been close, some down to the last drive, and this season home team has pulled out the victory with one exception.

Now, take a look at the tough games you have won against equal or greater opponents that were close. I bet you glad your were at home.

Teams in the East

Dawgs
- lost by 4 at New Jersey
- lost by 3 at Memphis
- won by 4 over Boston

Tennessee (i might be pushing it with Tennessee, lol)
- won by 7 over Phoenix
- won by 24 over Jacktown* (close until the 4th quarter)

Bears
- lost by 3 at Q
- lost by 7 at Corpus Christi
- lost by 2 at Cybermagination
- won by 24 over Memphis

Rats
- lost by 3 at Jacktown
- lost by 24 at Memphis
- won by 4 over New Jersey
- won by 3 over Q

Gangstas
- lost by Guadalajara (I know this one wasn't close)
- lost by 4 at Cybermagination
- lost by 24 at Tennessee* (close until the 4th quarter)
- won by 3 over Memphis
- won by 4 over Dirty

Dreams
- lost by 2 at Phoenix
- lost by 10 at New Jersey
- won by 4 over Jacktown
- won by 2 over Boston

Blaze
- lost by 4 at Memphis
- won by 4 over Q
- won by 10 over Cybermagination

Scorpions
- lost by 7 at Tennessee
- won by 3 over Possum
- won by 2 over Cybermagination
- won by 10 over Dirty at Dirty (the 1 rare exception)

I'm not saying the Sim is factoring in the home team, but it seems like something is going on. I'm just looking for others input/comments on the Conspiracy Theory, lol!!!

If "Home Field Advantage" is worked into the sim in any way, that is a huge step for the game.

Works in reverse for Mighty but I'd be intereste in seeing a wider spectrum of teams results.

As crappy as we are, we seem to put drives together late int he game at home better than away.

Mentone Beach Assault
01/03/2009 - at Atlantic City Aces - W 82-7
01/05/2009 - Omaha Lightning - W 41-38
01/07/2009 - at Timpanogos Thunder - L 23-47
01/09/2009 - Bakersfield Nanananas - W 218-0
01/11/2009 - Mighty Chihuahuas - W 72-34
01/13/2009 - at Virginia George Washingtons - W 45-21
01/15/2009 - Texas Shaggy Bevos - W 52-19

I guess our loss was on an away game, but I'm not sure that would have mattered against Timpanogos.

I not just talking about winning and losing for all games. I'm talking winning and losing for close games. This season so far, the home teams have faired very well in those close games.

Given that Bort has been updating things in the change log I really doubt he'd just do this silently. If he did though, Home field throughout the playoffs actually means something. Doubt it though.

The home-field advantage as we know it no longer exists in the NFL. Look at the playoffs this season alone, home teams are losing all the games.
I just think if Bort were to add something like that, it would be in the changelog. No reason not to be.

But I also wouldnt be opposed to some slight morale boost for home teams or a higher likelyhood for false-starts based on fan support.

Yeah, I know it's not in the game or sim. It's just another talking point. I like your ideal though.

yea, Berf had to be working 24/7 nerfing speed backs. He'd have to be superhuman to do anything else.

I don't believe in a Home Field Advantage. Unless it was added this season, I have never seen anything with the Ewoks to make me believe otherwise. In our previous seasons, we have usually done well in road games during the playoffs. Season 2, we were 1-1 away. Season 3, we were 2-1 away and 1-0 home. Season 4, we were 0-1 away. Season 5, we were 0-1 at home. Season 6, we were 2-1 away. That is a total of 5-4 away. I believe we were either evenly matched or underdogs for all those games.

Didn't hold true in that case.
