Not a single position change this time. As boring as the last set of games where, this set might be the most exciting yet. Very good matchups from top to bottom. 1 vs 5, 2 vs 3, 4 vs 8 (might be our most lopsided game for the week), 6 vs 7, 9 vs 12, 10 vs 11, 13 vs 14, and 15 vs 16. So next set of rankings will be fun with all the potential changes.

Rk- Team----------record---------Last ranking------next game-------write up

-----Leader of the pack-------
#1 Northern Demons----(7-0)--------(1)-------------#5 NuvaNut Knights-------------------Easy win over the Redbirds. Next up will be a game against of the hottest teams right now in NuvaNut.

-------The Battle for playoff positioning----

#2 Vancouver "Pitbulls"------ (7-0)---------(2)--------#3 Whistler Warriors-------------This is a huge game for them and should feel more comfortable than the Warriors as the Warriors need this one more. If the Pitbulls win that would give them victories and tiebreakers rights over the Warriors, Wizards, Knights, and Northern Lights and clearly put them in the driver seat for at least the number 2 spot for the playoffs.
#3 Whistler Warriors--(6-1)--------(3)------------#2 Vancouver "Pitbulls"--------------In the last game the Mutants got more yards then them. Against the Pitbulls the Warriors will need to step it up. A loss would put them 2 and a half games behind the Pitbulls for the number 2 spot. With most of the Pitbulls tough games behind them and only road blocks Northern, Yellowknife, and New Colgne left, a loss would mean at best the Warriors could only pick up the number 3 seed. This game will be huge for them.
#4 Hogwarts Wizards--------(5-2)--------(4)-----------#8 New Cologne Bears------------Crushed the Jags and is ready to take on the Bears. They can't just lay back and take the Bears lightly, but out of the top half of the field they have the easiest game.
#5 NuvaNut Knights-----------(5-2)---------(5)-------------#1 Northern Demons------The team I picked as the number 2 team to start the season and has the best chance of beating Northern, had some early troubles but has now won 3 games in a row over some solid competition. None of those teams are anywhere close to being the caliber of the Demons.
#6 Yellowknife Eskimo Hunters-(5-2)--(6)-------#7 Vancouver Northern Lights---------------Caught up in a mess of teams battling for playoff position, they are near the bottom of this group and real hasn't had a statement game yet.

-----The Battle for 8th--------

#7 Vancouver Northern Lights-(6-1)-----(7)-------------#6 Yellowknife Eskimo Hunters---------------How can a 6-1 team only be ranked 7th? You might ask. Well lets take a look. In the 6 wins all 6 teams had losing records with a combined 9-33 record. The only loss was to the Pitbulls, but the score was 35-8. Hardly a GLB type blowout. It will be interesting to see how they play in the next couple of games.
#8 New Cologne Bears---------(4-3)------(8)---------------#4 Hogwarts Wizards---------This will be a hard one for them to win. Next game against the Mutants will be a big one for them for making a step towards holding that playoff spot.
#9 Montreal Mutants------------(2-5)--------(9)----------#12 Ottawa Jaguars----------Yes it looks really bad for the Mutants right now and at 2-5 it looks like they are left for dead, but from here on out I think this team can go 8-1 to finish at 10-6. 7 other teams are hoping that is not going to happen because this team can scare people come playoff time. Let's see if this team now gives up or will continue to fight.

----Outclassed-------

#10 Calver Eagles-------------(2-5)---(10)----------------------#11 Da Nang Gang Bangers-----------------Should be 2 evenly matched teams facing off here. A low level game that should be a good one.
#11 Da Nang Gang Bangers-------(3-4)-----(11)-------------#10 Calver Eagles----------They have the better record than the Eagles, but they have played Aberta and Toronto where the Eagles have played neither. It doesn't matter though because a win here would jump them over the Eagles.
#12 Ottawa Jaguars------------(2-5)---(12)-------#9 Montreal Mutants--------------------What a disappointment for a team I had higher hopes for. They can get out of their funk with an upset over the Mutants though.
#13 RC Gladiators-------------(2-5)---(13)--------#14 Cardinal Redbirds----------This is the worst team in the league that is actually trying. Well they should pick up the 3rd win of the year against the Redbirds. It should also be their last.
#14 Cardinal Redbirds--------(1-6)----(14)-----#13 RC Gladiators----------------Might keep the game a little close against the Gladiators.

------Headed down to BBB-----

#15 Alberta Mounties---------(0-7)----(15)-----#16 Toronto Red Devils------------------------The battle for last.
#16 Toronto Red Devils------(0-7)-----(16)------#15 Alberta Mounties----------------If Tornoto is going to score any points this season then this should be the game for it to happen.

Games of the week:

Normally I pick 2 games and go with that. This week I am picking 3 in the order I think will have top billing. You know how in college football there is usually one Saturday that is loaded with games and bowl positioning? Well this is that type of week for Canada A #3 Western Conference. It is filled with can't miss games.

#2 Vancouver "Pitbulls" (7-0) vs #3 Whistler Warriors (6-1) - I have this game as the conference game of the season! These teams have been playing well and both would like to claim the number 2 spot. As soon as the games are over and you watch your game you should probably find time to watch this one. I don't think you will see a better game in GLB then this matchup. I changed my mind 16 times on this pick but my final decision is the Warriors win 35-34.

#1 Northern Demons (7-0) vs #5 NuvaNut Knights (5-2) - This game has the ability to make the Pitbulls/Warriors game not only not be the top game of the season, but not even the top game of the week. The Demons were rolling along and in 5 games this season hasn't given up a point. I thought this team would roll through the season without so much as a scare, but Yellowknife trailed them by only a score of 24-20 going to the 4th quarter before the Demons put it away. It might not be as easy as I thought it would be for the Demons. The Knights were my early number 2 pick but losses to the Pitbulls and Wizards by a combined 5 points dropped them quickly. Since then the have won 4 games in a row including a win over the Warriors. My Pick Demons 42 - 31.

#6 Yellowknife Eskimo Hunters (5-2) vs #7 Vancouver Northern Lights (6-1) - 2 big rivals. In the first 2 seasons it is split 2-2. In season one, Yellowknife won in the regular season and earned the 4 seed to Vancouver's 5 seed. In the first round Vancouver got its revenge. In season 2, Vancouver won in the regular season earning the number one spot in the playoffs with Yellowknife getting the 4 seed. In the second round of the playoffs Yellowknife took out Vancouver. In those 4 games the average score is 30-27 in favor of Vancouver and the average yardage 384.5 yards to 377.9 yards in favor of Yellowknife. This has been a very close series so far. I reserve the right to not make a prediction on this game since my team is involved.

Thanks Crow. I also really enjoy these power rankings.

I have to give the edge to your team in this game because I think you were able to strengthen your team more this offseason...but let's see what happens! Good luck.

Do we jump to the #1 spot after losses by Northern and Vancouver.
