Alpha Rankings for Week 7

1 (1).... Geneva Plague (6-0)
2 (2).... Valletta Vikings (6-0)
3 (4).... New Orleans Bayou Bengals (5-1)
4 (5).... Austrian Eagles (5-1)
5 (3).... dax atlantique storms (5-1)
6 (6).... South Yorkshire Aftershocks (4-2)
7 (7).... Stockholm Cows (4-2)
8 (8).... Glasgow Bravehearts (2-4)
9 (10).. Copenhagen VooDoo (4-2)
10 (9).. Rome Legion (3-3)
11 (11).. St. Petersburg Knights (2-4)
12 (12).. Berlin Blaze (1-5)
13 (13).. Capri Elites (1-5)
14 (14).. Leipzig Lava Flow (0-6)
15 (15).. Madrid Strikers (1-5)
16 (16).. Marseille Hitmen (1-5)

Valletta took care of the Eagles to set up the game of the undefeated against Geneva. Glasgow took a big step towards the playoffs by beating Rome and the Storms were upset by the upstart VooDoo despite their big level advantage.

Alpha Games of the Week

#1 Geneva Plague (6-0) vs. #2 Valletta Vikings (6-0)
These two teams not only want to remain the only unbeaten team left in Alpha, this is about who's the best team in the conference right now. A win could go a long way to determining which team gets the #1 seed going into the playoffs!
This should be an epic battle between two evenly matched teams that might face off again in the conference championship game - predicting a winner is very tough here, the game could go either way. I believe the team that has the ball last will win!

My prediction: Geneva by 3

#4 Austrian Eagles (5-1) vs. #5 dax atlantique storms (5-1)
Both teams suffered their first defeat of the season last week. Austria fell 28-35 to Valletta while the Storms were upset by Copenhagen, 29-31. Looking at their starters, the Storms should be the top team of the league but something doesn't seem right with them, as evidenced by their loss last week.
The winner of this game will have the inside track in the race for a homegame in the first playoff round. I still believe that the Storms have the better team but I also think that they will find a way to lose.

My prediction: Austria by 3

Other Alpha Games (predicted winners are in bold)
Legion vs. Blaze
Bengals vs. Knights
VooDoo vs. Strikers
Cows vs. Bravehearts
Lava Flow vs. Hitmen
Elites vs. Aftershocks

good luck Yakini. even though i believe dax will need the luck in that they don't get completely annihilated. maybe not annihilated but a convincing win non the less by the austrian eagles.

Hmm...Cows still ranked higher but backing the Bravehearts, bit of a fence sitter eh!

Should be a good game, Cows schedule throws up a lot of red herrings when gameplanning so i'm having to be a little creative this game. Our first ever offensive AI is now up and running fulltime so we'll take a good swing.

well, the rankings are mostly a reflexion of what the teams have done so far, one exception is Leipzig with their 0-6 record but I still think they're better thann Madrid and Marseille.

anyway, from what I've seen so far I believe that you'll beat Stockholm.

well, I'm not surprised that my prediction was wrong, both Vikings and Plague have great squads so it was tough picking the winner. congrats again!
