Rolled a pair of Superior Yellow Gloves that give "Hold block chance +2%" for only $2000. Having a higher chance of holding a block on a LDE or RDE seems to be a nice thing for a OT, does it not? And the price is affordable to say the least. Your opinions?

Hold block is a big thing, especially now with the veteran abilities out and the success of "reverse pancaking". That's not a great piece of AE though.

at your lvl you should be able to get something that is +2 attribute, +1 SA, and sometimes +% hold block too. Hold block is useful, but something that can boost an SA +4 after lvl 40 upgrades is more useful. If you build that SA to +6 it becomes +10. From what I know about SAs, they are not terribly effective until +6 and above.
