Zeta has their worst as well......and if you ask me Zeta's worst is WAY worse than Alpha's is!!!

Yeah, I'll give you that. There are a lot of mid-level teams in Alpha, and maybe only two that can hang with the top five in Zeta... but really only three or four that are scraping the lowest of the low. We've got six teams in Zeta that would struggle to find a good match-up in the new BBB leagues *laugh*.

... this is going to be a long season. Hopefully we can keep our agents active and excited about GLB while we navigate through the mess.

Yea Bucks, Wombats, Triforce, Lions etc have to just grin and bear it until they get back up into a proper league

The BBB league will help in future though, as it will suck up a lot of the rubbish in our league and those above. We'll get under-levelled teams promoted from BBB, but they'll be at least assumedly proper teams. It's then their call as to whether they re-tool after promotion, or stay loyal and grind it out.

Still I'd rather have promoted capped teams than be a dumping zone for CPU, gutted and slow-build teams

As I said in the other thread, only Bucks, Wombats, Triforce and Lions are legitimate challengers. While, of the other 12 teams, only Ironmen, Uranuses, Prowlers, Slashers and Blitzers have anything resembling a team. 7 are fooked. Therefore just 1 'proper' team will not make the playoffs.

I agree with three of those teams. I was really liking how the Wombats moved up into contention for Season 6... but it looks like they unfortunately shot their wad this off-season, and I think they're one-and-done now. They've got only the 10th best stadium in Zeta with only 19,610 seats, and it's a big drop-off from the 8th spot (Maribor with 25,230 seats). They also had the 5th highest daily salaries when I checked in the pre-season, so that doesn't bode well for long-term success. Hopefully they prove me wrong and have enough firepower to win Zeta in Season 8.

I'm still trying to figure out what's up with the Prague Prowlers, too. They are obviously trading between their three other teams, trying to move money from the other clubs into this one as they struggle to field a competent roster, but wouldn't it have made more sense to build this "powerhouse" they keep referring to themselves as at the Camden Outkasts ( http://goallineblitz.com/game/stadium.pl?team_id=26 )? The team is in a similarly competitive league, and there wouldn't be near the growing pains they're experiencing in EEA#3. With the 6th worst stadium in Zeta and the 2nd highest payroll, they're just spinning the wheels... and with the chemistry seemingly never getting better, it'll take at least 2 seasons to get where the Camden club is right now. Also, there wouldn't be the risk of getting all four teams taken away by the admins for gaming and collusion with the blatant way the trades are being worked. I'm just sayin'...

Hey adamantenigma , Nice observation about Prague, Camden and Rome, our conglomerate of teams.

well the history behind our teams will tell you everything.

I Start GLB with one player, Smash Rockwell. HE played for the Nova Scotia Aftershock for about 5 seasons. When i received my own team i asked my former owner if Smash could play for my own team. Well i ran into budget problems and sold Smashes contract to another team, Camden. Camden was a pro league team then but could not compete. We were building a team in the pro league and it was hard. Slyaggie, the owner of Camden, decided that he didn't have time to build such a team in a super competitive league. I ask Sly not to quit but instead to become a GM in Prague where we could consolidate our rosters. Sly decided to make Camden a slow build team. Mr.Bilbrey another Prague GM purchased Rome as a farm team for Prague.

Here are a few reasons why we decided to build Prague instead of Camden or Rome;

~Prague Prowlers has some really loyal players
~Our league had the best competition for a "growing" team.
~I talked a lot of trash when i purchased this team. I gave other teams in our league the glory of seeing us lose after trash talking. I now await the return of this glory, to its rightful owners,.. The Prague Prowlers!

I'll give ya that, then... it's a solid plan, and I appreciate the insight. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why the paltry stadium would be such an appealing destination to build your "powerhouse". Definitely agreed that this league couldn't be more attractive, though... you're going to be a playoff team just by merely suiting up 11 offensive players, and 11 defenders. Sad state of affairs, for sure.

I just don't want you to go all gung-ho and end up losing your patience. You've got a pretty good squad built for Season 7, and I'd hate to see you flop it in the future seasons due to salary/money mismanagement. Our league (and obviously the ones above us) have seen plenty of turnover due to owners/GMs who are only in it to win NOW... then fold after a season or two when they couldn't cut it.

... it won't be in EEA#3, but we look forward to future competitive match-ups between the clubs.

... well hell yeah... if Maribor loses a fifth game in a row (third in-season), I think Kyriakin may just go buy the rest of the free agents that are available.

Its been a good team to be on . for me it started with my little low lvl player and smash gave him a chance on the team. I liked the direction and goals of the team, whether or not at the time we were losing alot. I just liked the attitude and willpower to try and improve. Communication is huge for us prowlers. So after my first season i brought my SS over from a dying team and then we traded my SS for my WR which was needed more and thats where i stand.
