Alpha and Zeta are completely separate when it comes to determining promotion. Otherwise it would be possible for teams to switch conferences on promotion, which it isn't.

i've seen teams switch conferences on promotion! it happened with the top seeds of Elephant (A5) joining Lions peculiarly. even former Zeta champs PTT have somehow switched to Alpha in AAA2.
