Pontianak Firebirds at Algeria Addiction
Week 8: Addiction 48 Firebirds 14

The Firebirds had nothing for the Addiction back in Week 8. The Algeria defense stifled the Pontianak offense while Joe Kane lit up the Firebird secondary for 300+ yards. In order to keep this close, the Firebirds will need a huge performance from either HBs Canton Katchum & Major Rhinehart or QB Hot Dog Pump. They’ve had their moments this season but the Addiction defense lead by Dar-Ryl Talley, Mike Keim, and company to shut them down. Addiction 28 Firebirds 7.

Hell Valley Snow Monkeys at Cambodia Mountain Men
Week 11: Mountain Men 37 Snow Monkeys 13

The Snow Monkeys earn a trip to the hills of Cambodia in their first season in AA – congrats to the little primates. This game was close midway through the 3rd quarter when they meet this regular season, but the Mountain Men pulled away down the stretch with their bruising HBs Kareem Rush & George Hearst. Snow Monkey QB Houston Dale Nuttsac will have to find a way to attack the Cambodia defense and avoid the sack numbers that the Mountain Men piled up last time. I expect turnovers to play a big role in this one, with the ball bouncing just enough the home team’s way. Mountain Men 21 Snow Monkeys 13.

Subic Bay Admirals at Singapore J.B. Lions
Week 9: Admirals 20 Lions 7

Two rookies to SEA AA pair off in this one. Expect a defensive battle here. Singapore’s QB Joe McCall was a mere 5 for 22 in the regular season matchup and must improve. Whereas Subic Bay’s HB Charles Riley went over 100 yards in the first matchup and will probably have to do it again. Field position dictates the day. A late 4th quarter drive gets the Lions the win this time. Lions 16 Admirals 10.

Sumatra Sting at Jakarta Yellow Devils
Week 5: Yellow Devils 34 Sting 26

Just the opposite in this one, pitting another pair of newcomers against each other. Expect the scoreboard operators to be kept busy all game long. Both teams have struggled somewhat as the regular season drew to a close, but this one could be an air battle between the Sting’s QB Calvin Thompson and the Yellow Devil’s Blake Snakely. Jakarta’s WR Wide Star shines in the spotlight. Yellow Devils 42 Sting 31.

The Firebirds will show up and give AA everything they have. Expect a huge game from Hot Dog Pump, argueably one of the top 3 QBs in the league.

Garuda

Tibetan Drunk Monks at Sault Ste Marie Metalheads
Week 9: Metalheads 34 Drunk Monks 3

The Monks did lead Garuda in total rushing yards on the season and HB Plow Thruya had 142 yards against the Metalheads but I don’t think they can keep up with Sault Ste Marie on the scoreboard. QB Lucas Spaceman leads the way but the story of this one will be the defense, lead by the Kill boys – Ultra and Monster. The Monks are going to need a lot of liquor this week. Metalheads 35 Monks 10.

The Manila Guerrillas (formerly known as The Pretenders) at The Elephant Riders
Week 4: Riders 65 Guerrillas 13

We knew they were pretending all along, now the Pretenders have went so far as to even change their name. Meet the Manila Guerrillas. Their biggest weapon remains HB Cleetus Johnson. HB neil o'fallon rushed for 3 touchdowns and QB John Iinuma threw for 3 more for the Riders in the regular season matchup. Way too much offense for whatever their name is. Riders 45 Guerrillas 20.

Garut Fire Horses at San Fran Gold Rush
Week 4: Rush 38 Fire Horses 13

We all are quite aware that the Horses are capable of pulling the upset – they knocked off both the Toys and the Metalheads this season – and come into the playoffs with 8 wins in a row. HB Marshall Sanders will be asked to carry the load but the pressure will be mostly on the Horses defense. Can they slow down a Rush offense lead by QB Chazz Michael Michaels ? The Rush beat them up pretty badly during their early season struggles but this one promises to be much closer. Rush 28 Horses 20.

Palembang Tigers at Thailand Cheap Toys
Week 11: Toys 24 Tigers 17

These two were tied in the 4th quarter before the Toys took the lead behind HB Hal Hunter. Things stayed interesting right up until the last horn as the Tigers drove to the Toys 10 yard line as time expired. QB Tossing Salad will be tossing spirals in an effort to pull the upset for the Tigers this time around. Expect another close one. Toys 28 Tigers 17.

Good luck all. We gave it a shot but came up short. Good game San Fran. It looks like we have to rebuild because our stadium can't sustain the high contracts, it too bad next season might have been our chance. Anyone looking for well built players let me know.

I'm gonna cheer for our division to take it all.

cheers

It doesnt matter if the mountain men lost. They still have won the battle for the old conch shell 2 years in a row.

After getting jacked out of the playoffs, we have to take whatever trophies we can get!
