Here we go....the last week of the regular season and playoff spots are still up for grabs....some BIG games here:

Game of the Week #1.....Definitely no tomorrow..really!
Tonga vs. SAFS
This is a type of game where the playoffs start early for the SAFS....and the Terror. The winner is in, the loser is out. Looking at the SAFS, they have struggled all year with consistency. But...so have the Terror. Tonga pulled out a huge and impressive win over a good Chillicothe team last week in spite of my dire predictions. Maybe the Terror thrive on me disrespecting them....we will soon find out. This is the the game the SAFS seem to live for, and maybe the Terror too after last week...but....I will go with a gut instinct here and predict the SAFS show up and pull out a victory over a game and deserving Terror team. I see a late FG putting the SAFS into the playoffs in a tight contest throughout. Sorry Terror, no disrespect at all, but respect for the SAFS....as they win by 1 to claim a playoff spot.

Game of the Week #2.....Sweet home Glacier Field...
Antarctica vs. Tuvalu
The Seals have an opportunity to lock up their first home playoff game in their history and the only thing standing in their way is a resurgent Matador team who beat the Seals last year in a close contest. This is an important game for both teams as Tuvalu's playoff seeding is not yet set. The Matadors have won 4 out of their last 5 games after a rough first half of the season to earn a playoff spot...Well done guys! They face a tough test in Antarctica this week. Tuvulu may have some things straightened out, but not enough to derail the Seals selling home playoff tickets. The Matadors are solid on both sides of the ball, but will struggle against a good Seal defense as the Seal's shut down a good Tuvalu squad to claim home field. I see Antarctica pulling away in the 2nd half to win this game by 4 TD's.

Games of some write up:

Newcastle vs. USGD
The Minotaurs will not lose to the Dynasty. USGD will not be in the playoffs despite an excellent first year in Oceania AA#3, Well done Dynasty on a good season. That 1 point loss to the SAFS is haunting. Minos by 5 TD's.

Vanuatu vs. Penrith
The Outlaws tanked it versus the Fire last week. Seems like they wanted to put in a bid for relagation. The Seals hope that Penrith actually tries this game as the points scored by Vanuatu will have a direct effect on seeding. Yes...it is a selfish wish, but trust me...the Outlaws have nothing to lose by trying hard...they will not beat Vanuatu and trying hard will lend integrity to the playoff seedings. Volcano by the inverse of how hard Penrith plays the game.

Miniumum write up games:

Osaka vs. Cairns
Maybe the Buckeyes will throw this game to make scouting them harder for the first round of the playoffs and the Fire will have a 2 game winning streak....nah...The Fire have nothing to be ashamed about for showing up to play last week, but it won't be enough against the Buckeyes. Osaka by lots.

Wake Island vs. Drunk Fu
Non-game of the week. The Destroyers will have 1 eye on the Antarctica/Tuvalu game...but will still win by lots and lots.

Chillicothe vs. Sydney
The Convicts will close out the season with an easy win over a rebuilding Hammerhead team. Convicts by lots.

Gold Coast vs. Hattrick
This is a fitting game to end my season of mispredictions. The Samaurai should win this game against a Hattrick team that hung in there all year...and they will. Gold Coast closes out their initial season in Oceania AA#3 with a comfortable win. Samaurai by 3 TD's.

Conference Leader:
Osaka

Conference Contenders:
Newcastle
Vanuatu
Antarctica
Wake Island
Tuvalu
Chillicothe

Playoff Contenders:
Tonga
SAFS
USGD

Looking to season 7:
Gold Coast
Hattrick
Cairns
Penrith
Drunk Fu

Playoff breakdown:

Antarctica 52 points up on Vanuatu for 3rd playoff spot if both win this week.

If the SAFS beat Tonga and after Newcastle beats USGD, this is the setup:
USGD at 8-8 beat Tonga, lost to SAFS, 1-1 record in 3 way tie.
Tonga at 8-8 lost to USGD and SAFS, 0-2 record in 3 way tie.
SAFS at 8-8 beat USGD and SAFS, 2-0 record in 3 way tie.

SAFS in at #8 seed.

If Tonga beats the SAFS, they are in the playoffs at 9-7.

If Tuvalu beats the Seals, they are in the playoffs at 10-6 with the #7 seed. (Chillicothe beat Tuvalu 45-44 regular season).

If Tonga beats the SAFS and the Seals beat Tuvalu, Tonga is in at 9-7 in the 7th playoff spot and Tuvalu is in at #8. (Tonga beat Tuvalu 31-27 regular season)

If any of my calculations are off....let me know.

Thats about the way I see it. Terror vs Endzone is a playoff game for those squads. Vanuatu needs to score 52 more than Antarctica for third. Both could go either way. There are some other oddities that could change things, but they are pretty unlikely.

Looks like Penrith straightened their depth chart out, appears they were throwing the last game to ensure 15th and relegation. They have their regular lineup now. I'm hoping for a Seals/Matadors score like Auburn and Miss St, 3 to 2!! Good luck Maldinor.

They'll have both eyes, hands, and legs on the Antarctica/Tuvalu game and still win by lots and lots.

Well guys, it's time for us to move down and hopefully we'll see some of you here in a few years or so.

Maldinor, your write-ups are one of the best and hopefully we have someone down in A that can do the same.

Good luck to all you in the playoffs.

Knocks.....good luck next year with the Drunk Fu!

Thanks for the kind words, but I learned all my journalism skills from Nats who took care of this for the league's first 2 season.

Maybe we will see you again in a few seasons....hopefully from you guys moving up!

LOL...you covered the spread. Turnover killed us on this one - good game.
