Well personally, I don't see DEs ending up with that much more speed. They already have it to 4:1, and I don't see many spending past that. Now its about equip / natural gains (which REALLY shrink after level 38..), and those who were willing to actually spend 4 or 5 to 1. Not too many, even the good builds..
OTs on the other hand, have a lot more room to catch up - we'll get agi to 68, spd to 60, etc., and I think DE success will slowly fall over the next few seasons. DEs are forced into SAs, vision, jumping, etc., lately, I just don't see them vastly improving compared to OTs who were *so* far behind the curve a while back.
That said, LOTs with 60 speed wont be unheard of. Anything past that is a stretch, though.
My position on speed is that 40 wont be enough. That's where I have it now... I'm considering taking it to 48, and training it next season, but I'm not sure if I really need all of it in my league (not giving up many/any sacks). Though I'll probably move to a pro/AAA league by the end of my career and am building toward that...
