I have to say I am very happy with the way this season turned out for competition. There will always be teams that decide to gut for variour reasons....no problem....can't get away from it. But there is a very good level of competition in the conferences this year as evidenced by the close playoff races in Zeta and Alpha.
I think the plan is to do the same again next year in regards to the shuffle. Not sure.
While I am here, I want to also express my high regard for those teams in Zeta who stuck with the rebuilding/competing process throughout the season. I have no problem with what the Drunk Fu did at all....the owner made a decision and I am not here to say anything about that except wish him luck in the future. But...coming from the bowels of the conference with the Seals, I respect Hattrick, Pentrith, Cairns and Sydney hanging around. Yes...I included you Sydney...I know how hard CB's are to come by. It will take you some time to have them catch up to the rest of the team though. You might be in a lot of 70-65 games next season
Osaka.....yup.....I have some thoughts on the Buckeyes. I think they have proved to be the best team so far in the conference, no doubt and should be prohibitive favorites to win Zeta. But...I have a thought that the playoff sledding might be a little bit rockier for the Buckeyes. I base this on having drank 7 beers.....but also....it is just a nagging thought. I might be totally wrong on this....and 5Star will definitely let me know , but it is just a thought. No knock on Osaka at all....very nice team. But when I look at Newcastle, Vanuatu, Antarctica, and Chillicothe....I don't see that much difference in the dots. Maybe my beer vision is askew...I don't know. They deserve the favorite spot, well earned. Might be intersting playoffs....I hope so!
Team I would least like to play with identical dots:
Vanuatu....just because every time I think I have them figured out....they prove me wrong. I hate you....
2nd place.....Wake Island.....done the mostest with the leastest. Just a great job.
Best Rival for the Seals....(its my thread....)
Chillicothe....by far. We have had close games throughout our time in Oceania AA#3 with the Convicts. I'm just glad that this year, finally, we got to have them roll over on their stomach.
2nd place.....SAFS.....another team we played close once or twice and finally won a game against...1 point is still a win!
Team I can't figure out at all...
Gold Coast.....I just think they should be doing better and I can't put my finger on why they aren't. Game planning....maybe...I don't know. They have some good dots though. Could be very dangerous next year.
2nd place...Vanuatu.....I think we have a good game plan in place, and I'm wrong....again. I still hate you....
Most likely team to improve by a bunch next year...
Penrith.....not many inactives at all even with a poor record this year. That tells me the team is in it for the long haul. They could be a surprise next year with a few good signings.
2nd place.....Gold Coast....they could make a huge jump with some of whatever it is they are missing. Heck...I don't know what it is.
Anyway....that's all I have to say about that.
