If you want to stop the really good DEs, your blocking + agility must be higher than 150 by level 40. (Preferably 160).

LOT needs to be close to 150, but the more protector SA you have the further away you can be.

I don't know of any OTs that have 160. 140 is a lot more realistic and seems to be working so far.

160 is a bit excessive even 150 is quite high, though that's close to where my guy is at.

mine would be close to 150 if I'd a had a damn clue, it's a good target for anybody <20 right now.

Checked that box around lev 35...although my OT is a LOT right now... Now if only my speed wasn't so lousy.

That's regular gear upgrades for my lv. 24 (138 + 2x lv. 24 gear upgrade = 140 right now). But I wanted to spend some Skill Points there too!

So how much is the penalty for going above 150?

My lvl 36 OT is now at 151 and is working against the better DEs. He was getting torched when it was around 140. The number is only going to climb as DEs are figuring out more and more they don't need more than 50 - 55 strength to be effective if their agility is high enough. All sps are going into Agility + speed + first step + tunnel vision + shed block.

These were my numbers... 65 strength, 64 blocking, 50 speed, 67 agility, 49 vision. My pass block SAs were 2-2-2-2-1. This was also with +pass block focus. My back-up has worse attributes but better pass block SAs, namely 5 in protector.

I did, however, call plenty of plays with extra protection (either a TE or RB left in to help block on almost every play, sometimes two extra blockers). We gave up two sacks to blitzes, but there's not much that I could have realistically done to prevent them.

The DE that I faced has over 50 sacks on the season (second best in my league, the league leader has over 70).

150 isn't a magic number IMHO. Even though I was playing LT in this example, the 1 in protector from the CE bonus wasn't tide changing. Granted, I did need some help from the TE and RB to get the job done, it got done. I was also out-leveled by the DE and he's one of the best in my league.

Personally, I think speed is over looked in your equation TBPH. You need at least 115+ speed and agility to get position (45 speed, 70 agility seems adequate with the proper blocking focus). You also need enough blocking to keep the DE locked up. Plus, you need enough strength to not get pushed into the QB by a strong DE. Lastly, you need enough vision to take the right angles and not block the wrong guy.

Not unrealistic at all.

My OT's Blocking + Agility is closer to 165 than 160.
