I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I'm back with this week's games. We have one key game this week to see who is the real #2 team. We also have one good game between a #5 and a #7 teams, plus several bubble teams that have to win to make their moves to get into the playoffs. Let's see how the games will roll out.
Game 11 Predictions
==========================================================
#1 Wellington Assassins vs #12 Alaska Wild
Wellington is sitting first and will stay there after this week. The Wild are out of their league (literally) and will get wiped out this game. Wellington by 78, 85-7.
#2 Olden Swillers vs #2 Perth Pirates
The big game of the day as #2 battles #2. We have the strong Olden Swillers vs the sleek and solid Perth Pirates. Who will claim sole possession of second place? I think the Swillers have the strength to be favored in this game, but the Pirates live a life of plundering, so they may find a way to steal this one. In the end, I think Olden will prevail (which Perth will probably be happy I have them as the underdogs!). Olden by 7, 35-28. (Spread 6.5)
#4 Newcastle Dream vs #16 Chippewa Prey
Well, Chippewa missed their one chance to win a game, so no point in prolonging this any more. This is a Dream of a game as Newcastle destroys the Prey. Newcastle by 207, 207-0.
#5 Devonport Devils vs #7 DECATUR STALEYS
This will be an exciting game - two good solid teams. A mistake or two by either team could decide the fate of this game. Devonport is feeling pretty strong again after their come-from-behind victory against Sydney, while DECATUR has won their last two games in convincing fashion. I think the Devils have righted their ship and will be a little too much for the STALEYS in this match. Devonport by 10, 24-14. (Spread 9.5)
#5 Sydney Sea Wasps vs #10 Hamilton Falcons
Sydney is stinging a little from their lose to Devonport and want to fight their way up into the top 4. The Falcons are fighting for their playoff life and must go on a run here to move into the top 8. Hamilton is crafty and can pull a surprising upset, but I think Sydney is ready to take out some frustration and the Falcons just got in the way. Sydney by 21, 28-7.
#7 Newcastle Mountain Lions vs #14 Saipan Stingrays
Not much of a game here as the Stingrays have sunk to the abyss. The Mountain Lions will mop-up on this easy opponent to keep their playoff position for now. Newcastle by 189, 196-7.
#9 Redcliffe Sharks vs #14 DHARMA Initiative
Redcliffe is a good team that is definitely on the bubble. Can they get enough wins to make the playoffs? If they are going to, opponents like DHARMA have to be conquered. Redcliffe by 111, 118-7.
#10 Apia Evil vs #12 Intergalactic Sub-Mariners
#10 vs #12 makes this game look a lot closer than it really is. Apia is a really good team that has played one of the hardest schedules so far - they have already played the current top 4 teams. They'll handle the Sub-Mariners fairly easily, keeping their playoff chances alive, while sinking any hopes for the Sub-Mariners. Apia by 27, 34-7.
That's it for this week. Let the trash talking begin!
