Yellowknife v/s Nova Scotia

This matchup has more meaning this season than in any other since these teams first met. Both teams sit at the top of their conference with unbeaten records. At this point, both teams are pretty much a lock for the playoffs and likely to meet more than once this season but who could have asked for a better build up to this game. Off the field these two teams have not really had much conflict but, on, they have beaten each other to a pulp. While I am biased on who I think will win the game I will give you the history of this matchup.

Season 5: Yellowknife squeezed out a narrow 31-30 victory. A missed PAT in the third quarter was the difference in that closely fought battle.

Season 4: Nova Scotia gave Yellowknife all they could handle and more piling up just over 300 yards on the ground. Yellowknife had little success moving the ball on a much more talented team. Now retired Cannon Brooks threw 4 picks in that game.

Season 3: Nova Scotia raped Yellowknife with a 59-6 stomping. Yellowknife allowed over 400 yards on the ground and managed just over 20 yards against that stout run defense. The poor yellowknife offensive line managed just 1 pancake against Nova Scotia that season.

This matchup now sits at 2-1 for Nova Scotia with this game setting the stage for them to pull out their series lead or let Yellowknife make it an even split. What will happen we will know in less than 24 hours. Until that time check out how close these two teams match up.

Should be a good game between two much improved teams. The mules look very formidable in terms of levels and also results. But the Snakes have come a long way as well.

Best of luck to you folks in Nova Scotia, I am hoping for another barn-burner.

I am out of town and can't get on often so I may not be able to watch this as soon as I'd like to.

This game, Monday against SWO and later on vs. Niagara not to mention the scrimmage with Tradewest will make for quite an entertaining week!

Should be a great game, I may watch this one before I watch our blowout of the Reapers.

We lost to Nova 34-31 so I'm curious to see how they stand up against the Mules.

We have another great one coming up as well.

(9-0) Memphis Maulers vs (8-1) Westwood Bruins

Season 3: In season 3 Memphis gave Westwood all they could handle in a 35-7 victory. RB's Erik Dickerson and and Jay Lumpkin combined for 152.5 yards and 4 TD's.

Season 4: In Season 4 Memphis beat Westwood 31-24, with its fierce three headed monster at RB. That was one of the better games of the season.

Season 5: In season 5 Westwood beat Memphis 27-10. QB Charlie pace was 19/25 for 198.5 yards and 2 TD's. Westwood also held Memphis' Star Running back Ahmad Galloway to 39 yards on 7 carries.

Season 6: ?

Memphis leads the all time series 2-1.

Todays game looks to be a good one. With both teams looking to take the Western Conference #1 seed. Westwood controls their own destiny. But they have a very rough stretch coming up including home games against Tradewest and Road games @ Gaffney and Laval. Three other Western conference Favorites. Memphis also has a very tough stretch coming up. Memphis as Home games against Gaffney and Thunderbay and a tough game ont he road against Tradewest. This is any Teams conference to win. Nothing is set and stone.

Memphis stretched that series lead. Honestly, that game was a lot closer than I thought it would be. Good game by both teams.

I was shocked when I looked at the score of the game. I will not be surprised to see you all in the playoffs and it be a whole lot closer, hopefully in our favor still though

Good luck for the remainder of the season.
