***** MTD (6-2) vs. Cook Island (8-0)
Mainly this is a 5 star game, just to keep MTD in the spotlight...we cant let them slip into the shadows now . Seriously, this will be a great game to watch IMO. Cook Island has gained the respect of all by mowing down everyone in front of them so far. This is a statement game for them! This stretch of games for Cook Island can put the entire OPL on high alert (MTD, Nites, Gangsters). If they come out of that stretch unblemished, we all will be looking at the new Zeta regular season champ!
PREDICTION: Cook Island.
**** Banzai Nites (7-1) vs. Samoa Gangsters (6-2)
Samoa enters "The Pipeline" today for the first time. The wave will be out in full force today in front of a packed stadium. Mr. Moose was quoted: "The Gangsters take offense to the fans flashing their "hang 10" gang signs each week. We are bringing the war to their turf". Extra security will be hand for this one in case of gang related activities. When reporters asked Lukin for his response, he just shook his head and said, "Lifes a BEACH".
PREDICTION: Abstain.
*** The Bomb Squad (5-3) vs. Cascade Cajun Crushers (6-2)
The Crushers have bounced back quite nicely from a rough start. They are one of Alpha's hottest teams right now. The Bomb Squad has lost 3 of their last 5, but look to bounce back this week. On a positive note, they have played two of the three big dogs in Alpha already...so the schedule gets a little easier if they can knock off the Crushers. This game has some history to it, so it should be a good one. The Crushers are hot right now.
PREDICTION: Crushers
** Melbourne Dreadnocks (4-4) vs. TiTs (7-1)
This is a must win for the Dreadnocks if they want to show Alpha they are at least here to make some noise. So far this season, Alpha has been pretty chalk. Outside of the top 2, it is tough seeing someone else representing Alpha in the championship IMO. TiTs is a solid 3, but until they get the monkey off their back and beat one of the big 2, it looks to be an Alpha runaway. TiTs need this game to keep pace. Dreaknoks want to shake things up and make noise. Honestly, the Dreadnoks just are not ready to handle these TiTs.
PRDICTION: TiTs
* The Gods (4-4) vs. Fiji Stingers (5-3)
This game is HUGE on so many levels for both of these teams. Currently they hold the 8th and 9th spots in Zeta. Both are playoff teams IMO, but a loss by either team HURTS. The Gods cant fall below .500 at this stage in the season. The good news for the Gods, they have played some rough teams early on, the bad news...they still have some rough teams left. Fiji NEEDS this game as they still have VKS, Grapestompers, Nites, MTD, Cook Island all to finish off the season.
PREDICTION: Fiji
