Warrior General Games

Well....on to week 9 after a very interesting week 8. Not many good games this week, but there are 3 interesting ones with 2 of them having important repurcussions.


Game of the week #1.....Holiday hangover?
Newcastle vs. Chillicothe
Huge game for playoff positioning. Both of these are good teams that will make the playoffs. Newcastle should certainly be hosting a first round playoff game. If the Minos want to host 2....they may need this game. A win by the Convicts here puts them right in the hunt for hosting a home playoff game. This game will feature 2 good offenses and solid defenses. I think that the offenses will carry this game along and I am expecting a shoot out. The Minos have a few more bullets though I see them pulling out a close win over a good Convict team. Minos by 10.


Game of the Week #2.....Black Friday for somebody.
SAFS vs. Tuvalu
This will be an interesting, good, and important game. On paper, the Matadors are a better team than the SAFS....I have seen that before though. Both of these teams have lost recent 45-44 heartbreakers. A win here would go a long way to putting those games in the rear view mirror. Both teams can score, both have been up and down on defense. I expect this game to be a high scoring affair and it will take another good game plan by the SAFS to pull it out. They may do it...as they often have done, but I see the Matadors getting an important win by 1 TD.


Game of the Week #3.....
Vanuatu vs. Gold Coast
The loss to the Destroyers can't be sitting well in the Volcano's stomachs today. They get a chance to get rid of that taste, but the team they are playing needs a win also. The Samaurai have a tough closing schedule and it starts here with Vanuatu. The Samaurai will have to pull off a couple of upsets to make the playoffs, and they have a chance to do it....just not against the Volcano. Vanuatu gets back on track after the thrashing Wake Island administerd and wins this game handily I think. Volcano by 3 - 4 TD's.



Minimum write up games:

Osaka vs Hattrick
The latest team to get run over by the Buckeye express. Osaka by lots.

Wake Island vs Penrith
The Destroyers proved they belong in the top of Zeta with a solid win against Vanuatu last week. They coast by the Outlaws. Destroyers win by lots.

USGD vs. Cairns
The Fire played Gold Coast tough last week and may keep it closer than expected against UGSD, but it won't be close enough to get a "W". USGD by 3 TD's.

Tonga vs. Drunk Fu
The Terror romp over the Drunk Fu in a non game. Tonga by lots.

Antarctica vs. Sydney
This game won't be close for long. The Hammerhead defense won't be able to hold down a good Seal offense or put up enough to keep it close. Seals by lots.

Good write up and I agree with everything you said...although I think SAFS might be a little overrated. I just do not see them making the playoffs this season

5 sacks, 5 hurries, 3 INTs, and just 3.3 yards per carry. You've outplayed us, completely. Congratulations Matadors, we've expected to be tougher challenge for you, but.. you've made it look quite easy.
