I sent a max offer over to his owner, they were only wanting less than max but it was a position we needed to fill so I sent max, slam dunk right?

Well the owner writes to me and says "I will never send my player to your team, he's a devoted christian and a family man and sending him to your Demons team would be very wrong".

I was waiting for the "LOL" or "J/K" to pop up or maybe a but got none, this guy was serious. I'm like, yeah, we have a religious sacrifice before every game and drink blood too. WTF is up with these people?

That's why it pays to have a team name where nobody know WTF it mean, like Clavenhouse Clan or Wetetnagami Walleye.


I guess we know why the Tampa Bay Rays dropped the devil from their name.

actually the Rays name change was inside the organization...Back in end.2005-2007 I worked Promotions & Events for Raymond James (Buccaneers), and we did ALOT w/ the Tropicana Team, their name change wasn't due to the "devil" or Christianity dispute...it was an internal personnel change. One of the men/companies who assist in financing the team came in...HERE'S THE FUNNY PART & THE REASON FOR THE NAME CHANGE; Devil Rays was initially "created" for the "fierce" aspect...b.c the Bay had a HIGH population of Sting Rays at one time...now that population is down sufficiently and they're not as "devilish", it's not such a "sting threat" as it once was. B.c Sting Rays are sort of territorial and Tampa was once one of the highest rates of being hit by a sting ray (hence "Devil Rays")...now that the pop. is down the ppl are are taking over their "territory" and moving them out and they've become less of a threat. All this fact and I've YET to get to the point, haha...The new finance man is the Director & Chairmen of a Marine Aquatic Lab...he's the reason for the name change. This was all being talked about when I worked for those guys...I'm surprised it took so long to change.

But yeah! Someone not coming over b.c your a "Demon" is just NONSENSE! It's a fiction game online, haha...I'm sure the lord above them won't mind them playing for a fake football team called the "Demons" haha...they're such clowns! I'm sorri...but ppl like that are considered crazy in today's society.

I'm sure you've all heard of DePaul University up here in Chicago. Catholic school, if I'm not mistaken. Their mascot is the Blue Demons. I don't suppose all the priests are going to hell for working with Blue Demons, eh?

haha, naaaaa it's just a bunch of BS. I'm a catholic guy...not entirely into the whole "going to church" every Sunday deal..but I do believe in the religion and follow it for the most part. I don't feel it's "sinful" or "against the lifestyle" of the religion if you play for a team w/ a name or mascot of demonic tense. Just to be spiteful I'd PM that agent and say; "Jesus Chr*st was in attendance at our last game, he led the team huddle..." hahaha. I love the story though Bill... Kills me! Or should I say; "Crucifies me", haha

Can we PLEASE move this thread to a BIGGER "section", the rest of the site would get a kick out of this! HAHA! SERIOUSLY! I for one believe in my religion and the belief of the Devil and his "minions" and feel it's silly. I KNOW alot of other religious ppl on the site would laugh as well.
