Game of the week – PGW vs. Alberta

#1 Triple B's 7-0

Previous #1
High #1
Low –N/A

Whipped up on Genosha and beat up the hapless care bears. The Triple B’s are the Achilles of A5. Only the UG have the ability to find his heel and bring him down. This week the B’s face a very good Rancho team that has improved more than any other team this season. Prediction - TB's by 28.

#2 Unsavory Gentlemen 7-0

Previous #2
High #2
Low #2

Crushed the CPU Care Bears and followed it up by a tough game against a well prepared and growing Rancho team. This week the UG try to max out the points vs. the Queen’s angels. Prediction - UG by 200 or so.

#3 Genosha X-Men 5-2

Previous #3
High #3
Low#3

Must feel like they got hit with a baseball bat, twice. The X-Men faced the two best teams in A5 and fell short each time. This week they square off against a PGW team in a game for playoff positioning and bragging rights. I look for the X-Men to be too much for the warriors. Prediction – Genosha by 17.

#4 Vancouver Vikings 7-0

Previous #4
High #4
Low #9

The Vikes have had little competition early on, save Irukandji. This week is their last before going into a 5 of 8 game streak vs. the best of A5. This game should be over quick. Prediction – Vikings by 28.

#5 Alberta Irukandji 6-1

Previous #5
High #4
Low #6

The Irukandji has had little competition since losing to the Vikings early in the season. This week they are pitted against a tough but young FMMP team. Alberta should easily handle the police. Prediction – Alberta by 35.

#6 Prince George Warriors 6-1

Previous #6
High #4
Low #6

A lock for the playoff, the PGW face a hardened Genosha team looking to get back in the W column. They cannot defeat the X-Men this time. Prediction – X-Men by 17.

#7 Rancho Penasquitos Thunderbolts 4-3

Previous #9
High #7
Low #9

Played a great game vs. the UG, although it was not as close as it looked on paper. The RPT are the most improved team from the beginning of the season. Look for them to make a push over the next few weeks to solidify their playoff spot. This week they face off vs. the Triple B’s in a game that is out of reach for the W but it should prove they can at least hang with the big boys. Prediction – B’s by 28.

#8 Canada Dragons 5-2

Previous #8
High #8
Low #9

Two straight wins in a row have the dragons sitting well going into the mid-point of the season. This week they square off against the Drift in what should be a great game. Prediction – Dragons by 10.

#9 North Bay Drift 2-5

Previous #11
High #9
Low #13

How do you move up after two straight losses? You play two of the better teams in A5 damn close, that’s how. This week the drift face off against the Canada Dragons in a make or break game that will decide if the Drift have what it takes to make a late season playoff push. Prediction – Canada by 10.

#10 Manitoba Lions 2-5

Previous #7
High #4
Low #10

The Lions were easily tamed by both the Vikings and the Dragons in back to back weeks. They finally have a breather vs. Ste. Marie as they look to get back on a winning streak before a tough game vs. Irukandji. Prediction – Lions by 56.

#11 F. Hockey Demos 2-5

Previous #12
High #11
Low #13

I’ve been saying it all year and the Demos are finally proving it, they have a good squad and appear to be on track to their best season yet. They were crushed by the X-Men but easily handled the Thrashers. This week is an easy W as they play the CPU Care Bears. Prediction – Demos by 84.

#12 Saskatchewan Thrashers 2-5

Previous #12
High #10
Low #12

Yep the thrashers were crushed, but losing to the Demos and getting dismantled by the Thunderbolts send the Drift and FMMP down the rankings. This week the Thrashers can prove they are worthy of passing the drift by beating the Demos. It should be close but I am giving the Thrashers the nod of confidence. Prediction – Thrashers by 3.

#13 Fort McMurray Mounted Police 1-6

Previous #11
High #10
Low #13

After facing a brutal, brutal, brutal first half season, the Police will end the first half with another L but should rebound in the second half of the season with 5-6 wins. This week the face off against an Alberta team looking to go 7-1 in the first half of the season. Prediction – Alberta by 35.

#14 Sault Ste. Marie 1-6

Previous #14
High #14
Low #14

Thing’s only get worse for Ste. Marie. The hungry Lion’s should treat them like a steak this week. Prediction – Lion’s by 56.

#15 Chilliwack Care Bears 1-6

Previous #15
High #15
Low #16

The demos roll into town and set fire to the Care Bears. Prediction – Demos by 84.

#16 the queen's angels 0-7

Previous #16
High #15
Low #16

Prediction – UG by 200+

Wow that stings a bit!

I think if you ask the Vikes they will concede they had a tough one last night. full of competition.

Cheers!

Oh god, yes. The Drift played their best game of the entire season last night, and honestly, if they either had faith in their kicker or a better AI setup, they shoulda won. I severely underestimated them.

Demos just got an infusion of 3 more very, very good players.

We obviously don't need them this week but... serving notice to the rest of the league that we're here with a lot more talent.

I'm looking forward to the game against the X-men. If we want into the top 4, we are going to have to go through the x-men. This will be our toughest game of the season so far.

Great job Oscarr
