Eastern Europe Conference Names - Official Vote

They are conducting an official vote to possibly rename the conferences in Eastern Europe.

The choices are down to:
1. Alpha / Zeta (vote for no change)
2. Olympic / Barbaric

Rational for Olympic/Barbaric:

Olympic represents the Southern region: home of the Greek Gods and the Olympic games. Barbaric represents the Northern region: home to the brutish Germanic Tribes and Scandinavian Warlords.

These two are opposite sides of the same coin: Olympians are praised, while Barbarians are feared, yet both are respected and known for athletic prowess, which is what football is all about.

Eastern Europe is not Greece, Germany or Scandinavian, they are all part off the Western Europe.

Greece is more east than the Balkan states like Croatia - who in turn are not too far from the port of Venice, Italy

but yeah, Germany and arguably Scandinavians are Western.

i do like the Olympians and Barbarians nomenclature (using the hordes from the east analogy like the Huns, Sythians and numerous Turkic invaders)
