What's a reasonable figure in get low for it to work?

7?

Or does it have to be pushed all the way to 9?

Well at ROT, I just took it to 5, and I've been shoving good pass rushers out of the play when we run the ball. Granted, these are the guys with lower strength, it makes the DEs pay who aren't building strength like they need to to stop the run.

I may take it to 6+1, we'll see

I'm interested in this too. Anyone have thoughts on the 'Run Block' SA? I have a piece of advanced equipment that I was thinking of using that gives some 'Run Block' boost.

I think Run Block SA is fundamental to the build. I imagine it adds a certain percentage to certain attributes every run play (how much is debatable), and if you are spending points at 3:1 in Str and Blk, you can spend them in Run Block also. With the equip, you can get run block to 10 and it would help I feel.

Your piece of Advanced Equipment should have +2 to Str/Blk also though I feel.

Based on this logic my Run Block SA is 6 (+1), and my Pass Block SA is 5 (+2) - soon to be 6 (+3), and I am now considering which other SAs to get up, which is trickier.

To get from 60 to 68 blocking, that costs 24 SP. That'd be like putting 12 points in run block, pass block respectively, or 1+1+2+2+3+3 = up to 6 in each.

So would you rather have +8 blocking or 6/6 in run block/pass block each? I argue that a similar solution - 4 / 7+1equip = 4/8 depending on which side you are on WOULD be better than taking blocking up by spending 3:1.

It's a bit iffy though... I'd almost rather put both at 4, and leave them alone and just deal with something else, and spending to 9+1 = 10 seems a bit excessive as well for a SA that says "slight bonus" and only affects up to 60% of your team's plays depending on how you gameplan.

---

That's why I haven't touched run block / pass block yet! Maybe later in my OTs career, but for now 2-2 is fine. I focused on taking get low to 4+1, and I think I'll actually try taking it to 6+1 next (so I guess run block to 3!)

I tried doing some math...it's pretty interesting. The formula I tried does show that each additional point in run or pass block would increase the additional bonus to blocking.
