Frostbite Falls Condenses the Steam
Frostbite Falls - In a game where the stats show a huge offensive performance, the tone for the game was first set by the Frostbite Falls Defense. On the 3rd play from scrimmage, Frostbite CB Satin Avenger picked off a Reby Sky pass and took it 75 yds for the opening score.
It took almost the entire 1st quarter for Frostbite's offense to get warmed up, but once they started, they were unstoppable. The 1st offensive TD of the game belonged to the fullback, Walter Bonecrusher, on a short run from the Steam Goal Line. After that, it was the two-headed beast of Frostbite's quarterback rotation that opened the game up. Marked Ace threw a 2yd TD pass to TE Mangum, folled by Chu Evans connecting with WR Ward for a 27yd TD.
Lightning Jones also found the end zone on a short run.
Hotlanta did keep Frostbite falls from notching another shut-out. In the middle of the 3rd quarter, Hotlanta's Bridgetta Tomarchio tossed a 10yrd TD strike to Tiffany Toth, but it was too little, too late. Frostbite quickly avenged the score with an 81yd punt return from Mike Taney, a TD pass from Evans to Daniels, an 18.5yd field goal from the always accurate Joe Schmo, and a pitch-toss from Ace to KC Train for a score.
To further ice the victory, Mike Taney did the impossible again, returning a 2nd punt 93.5 yards for the finishing score.
Frostbite Falls once again outgained their opponent by a margin of almost 2-1. The Frostbite rushing attack collected 249yds against just 43 from Hotlanta. Passing yardage was almost identical, at 169 for Frostbite and 174 for Hotlanta.
The 4-2 Heroes next travel to Mont-Royal to face the Jesters, while the 1-4-1 Steam try to bounce back on the road against the Aalborg Pandas.
