Memphis makes a big move this week on a solid victory. Laval played well and is on the second game of their vicious triple header.

1. Tradewest Battletoads (4-0) - Tradewest gave the Grise Fjord ^^^Kodiaks^^^ the big boot and sent em packing with a dominant 83-7 victory. CB Splice Jenkins had a career day on defense, registering 4 tackles, a sack, 6 passes defensed, and a whopping 4 interceptions, one of which he took for a touchdown. The strong rushing attack of the Battletoads was in effect again, with the tandem HB’s rushing for 262 yards and 5 touchdowns. The only real concern on the day was the pair of interceptions thrown by QB Jimmy Harbaugh. But with such a smashing victory over a pretty solid team, the Battletoads maintain their top position for another week.
Up Next: at Laval Lumberjacks

2. Yellowknife Rented Mules (4-0) – In the battle of the beasts, it was the Rented Mules running over the Westlake Rams 63-0. Mike Triplett had another stellar game, carrying the ball 33 times for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns. Not to be outdone, HB Marshawnn Lynch added another 25 rushes for 196 yards and 6 touchdowns. With such a potent rushing attack, the Mules are just throwing the ball to keep defenses honest. The Yellowknife defense totaled 9 sacks on the day, led by DE Romilio Alvarez. The world is still waiting for a true test on for the Rented Mules which would give them a shot to overtake the Battletoads in the standings.
Up Next: Westlake Rams

3. Memphis Maulers (4-0) – The Memphis Maulers continue their upward rise with a solid 57-24 victory over a very good Laval Lumberjacks team. Memphis showed up with a very balanced offense, throwing for 304 yards and rushing for another 225. Ahmad Galloway led the way on the ground, totaling 141 yards with 3 touchdowns on 25 rushes, but Mary Cassett had another huge game to steal the spotlight, catching 7 balls for 171 yards and 1 touchdown. The special teams coach wasn’t happy as kicker Adam Win-Atieri had a dismal day, missing 2 of 3 field goals and another 2 PAT attempts. Defensively, nobody expected Memphis to shut the Lumberjacks down, but they contained QB Mister Mann well, hurrying him 9 times to go along with their 2 sacks and 2 interceptions. FS Dwayne Garcia had a huge 98 yard interception return for a touchdown in the game.
Up Next: at Algoma Arena Rockers

4. Nova Scotia Snakes (4-0) – Another expected blowout, with the Snakes taking down the Sackville Waterfowl 115-6. The Snake defense was all over QB Gallagher Keelan, with 6 sacks, 9 hurries, and 5 interceptions with no touchdowns. DE Lawrence Jailor was a beast, registering 4 sacks, 2 TFL, and taking a fumble recovery for a touchdown. After the game, Jailor replied to a question of it if happens again next game, “I’m going to lateral to someone quicker. Can’t be running like that…” HB Justin Michaels shouldered the load offensively for the Snakes, rushing 35 times for 248 yards and 5 touchdowns. The Snakes should remain pretty solid in the rankings with no real tests in sight.
Up Next: at Lancaster Hustlas

5. Gaffney Indians (4-0) – Gaffney posted it’s fourth straight victory with a runaway score against the Moose Jaw Mac Attack, finishing up 96-7. All three rushers for the Indians topped the century mark yet again this season, combining for 431 yards and 9 touchdowns. The Indians were forcing turnovers all day, with a total of 8 takeaways in the game, capped off with LB O’Great One’s fumble returned for a touchdown. So many players contributed on defense that it didn’t matter where the ball went, an Indian player was there to bat it down or knock it loose. Impressively, the defensive line of the Indians didn’t allow a single pancake on the day.
Up Next: Grise Fjord ^^^Kodiaks^^^

6. Hamilton Lightning (4-0) – The Lightning posted their first shutout of the season the remain unbeaten, beatint he Sacramento Terror 72-0. QB Joe Kane is getting the yards (316) and the touchdowns (3), but he needs to work on his accuracy, completing only 53.7% of his passes on the day. Running back Lukas Omelanczuk had 207 all purpose yards with a touchdown through the air and on the ground, whle HB Speedy Donzalez punched it in from short range, tacking on 3 more touchdown runs. HB Darnell Jefferson got it done for special teams, returning 9 punts for 274 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the defensive side, the “Ballin” brothers DE Reggie “Ballin” Strahan and LB Ray “Ballin” Taylor combined for 11 sacks and a forced fumble to keep the Sacramento aerial attack grounded. The Lightning have a chance to show their class against an underrated Niagara Assassins team this week.
Up Next: at Niagara Assassins

7. Laval Lumberjacks (3-1) – The visiting Laval Lumberjacks scored the first points of the day, but 24 unanswered points set them too far back as they fell to the Memphis Maulers 24-57. Receivers Elnaturel Rage and Veto Manders tried to keep Laval in it, combining for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns on the day. SS senator blutarsky was the heart of the defense, racking up 12 tackles, 1 sack and a fumble recovery. Laval can’t be too upset at the loss, and by eliminating some of the big plays they gave up (4 plays, 269 yards, 4 touchdowns), the next time around Laval might leave with a win. The Lumberjacks continue their grueling three game stretch against the top ranked Battletoads this week.
Up Next: Tradewest Battletoads

8. Westwood Bruins (3-1) – The Bruins pummeled the Shasta McNasties 136-0. The Bruins did it through the air, with 422 yards and 5 touchdowns, and on the ground, with 440 yards and 12 touchdowns, led by HB Ray House’s 262 yards and whopping 26 broken tackles. The Westwood defense came close to holding their opponents to negative yardage on the day (24), led by DE Granite Wall’s 4 sacks and CB Ricky Manning Jr.’s 9 passes defensed as well as a 38 yard interception returned for touchdown. Westwood has a pretty balanced schedule, and look to capitalize on the march up to a tough three game schedule towards the end of the season.
Up Next: at B.K. Thunderbirds

9. Lincoln Lucky (3-1) – Lincoln stayed secure in the rankings with a 52-34 victory over the Toronto Storm. Yuri Excalibur ran 18 times for 110 yards and 3 touchdowns, while QB Eric Washa threw for 235 yards and 2 touchdowns. Punter Returner CB Hustle McGee had a great day, with 190 yards and 1 touchdown on five returns. LB Stompy Crackenskulls had a great game on defense, with 6 tackles and a 53 yard interception returned for a touchdown. It was a relatively quiet game for the Lucky, who look to a tough game next week against the Rented Mules.
Up Next: Sacramento Terror

10. Lethbridge Fighters (3-1) – Lethbridge finds itself back on the Top 10 after a weeklong hiatus following a 135-0 abusing of the Listowel Huskies. It was all about the rushing game, with three running backs combining for 411 yards and 11 touchdowns, led by HB Joe Razewulf’s 206 yards and 5 touchdowns on 20 carries. QB Jack Skellington contributed another 229 yards and 6 touchdowns through the air. It was a solid day all around for the Fighter defense, with 4 sacks and 16 TFL. With a tenuous hold on the last spot in the Top 10, the Fighters can’t afford to make any mistakes in the coming weeks.
Up Next: at Marley’s Pot Puffing Ingredients

On the bubble: Niagara Assassins (2-2), Algoma Arena Rockers (3-1), Marley’s Pot Puffing Ingredients (3-1)

West Game of the Week: Tradewest Battletoads (4-0) vs. Laval Lumberjacks (3-1)

East Game of the Week: Hamilton Lightning (4-0) vs. Niagara Assassins (2-2)

Niagara falls to the bubble after an unimpressive win over Sackville. I would have liked to see a more lopsided score. It was a tossup between Algoma and Lethbridge for the final spot this week, with Lethbridge taking it due to their level advantage.

It's a running joke and never going to happen unfortunately

Good writeup invertigo; hopefully we can stay number one with our arch-enemy Lumberjacks on the road...

Hey great write up as usual, but the Lightning beat the Blitz by 25 we beat them by 26.....game was even more lopsided than that 616.5 total yards of offense for Niagara to 235.5 on Sackville.

This would be sick. I am still angry I could never get passed the flying cars portion in the original game...

Has anyone seen that commercial for the new Wii game that you sit on some sort of pad and wiggle your butt? Immediately, the conversation in the room changed to how long before a porn game is created for the Wii. Think about it!

And though the Assassins might have played a better game than the Lightning, the records are still 4-0 and 2-2. This game this week should be quite telling, and I can promise you a victory over the Lightning would get the Assassins back on the list.

We're hoping to give the Toads a good game. Gotta admit though, you guys are rock solid on defense. Way to recruit/build!

Tradewest is pretty solid all around. But Gaffney is still my pick to win the west. They are the only team left that we have never beaten.

Thanks man, I can't wait till we play. Its too bad we have to wait until the end of the season though. That being said, I hope we can consistently compete with the top teams this season lol unlike last season. Your D is top notch, and your O has really turned it up.... I see you and Tradewest playing in the West's championship game.
