MIA Memorial (RR) -- This weeks game of the week was a dandy, pitting two playoff caliber teams against one another and producing an exciting 60 minutes of football. The Band of Brothers were able to beat the Real Men of Genius in a closely contested 34-27 match.

Offensively, both teams were successful in very different ways. The Band of Brothers relied on the arm of K-9 Killa who passed for 447.5 yards, 3 TD's, and no interceptions. However as a team they only managed 35 rushing yards.

"K-9 [Killa] is a tremendous asset to this team," Head Coach GxDOGGx said. "We have asked him to work on his accuracy this off-season after faltering a bit late last year and he has rebounded well."

The Real Men of Genius, on the other hand, were able to churn out a solid rushing attack that gained 156.5 total yards. But they were unable to get consistent play from either of their 2 quarterbacks, E.J. Manuel and Tarzell Tazzle who combined for a pedestrian 17 for 41 and 1 TD.

"This is our second season with E.J. [Manuel] and Tarzell [Tazzle] back there and I think this was just a small bump in the road," Head Coach TAMUGeo said. "They were pressured heavily and had to deliver the ball earlier than they wanted to in a number of situations. I am impressed by our running game, but we need to diversify ourselves a little more in terms of offensive production."

It was a Tarzell Tazzle 29.5 yard passing touchdown that closed the gap to 34-27 with about 3:00 to go. But a defensive collapse on 3rd and 10 in which K-9 Killa launched a pass into triple coverage that was completed for 38 yards, which ultimately sealed the deal.

Defensively both teams were able to get a tremendous amount of pressure on their opponent, however it came down to consistently stopping the other team from punching it into the endzone, and neither team was able to do that.

"I'm not impressed by how we played," Read Men of Genius DE Spagetti Monster said who had 3 sacks in the game. "We needed to make more stops and that last 38 yard gain was inexcusable. The secondary needs to understand the situation and make a play, especially in triple coverage."

Both teams will look to take this game as something to build on for the rest of the season. The Real Men of Genius will look for their first win next week against the 0-1 Zimbabwe Black Rhinos. The Band of Brothers, consequently, will look to continue their winning streak against the 0-1 Rhein Main Magic Mushrooms.

No I didn't lol. I'm actually considering making this a weekly staple where I will nominate 3 games as potential games of the week. Then you can reply in the thread which game you want written up about, the votes will be tallied and the winning game will get their own feature story.

Thats a great idea m8

Really enjoy reading these, gives some more "realism"(in lack of a better word) to it all. I smell a Pulitzer...

Well my grammar isn't exactly "polished" in certain areas (A few run on sentences and common splices I believe), but I do appreciate the comments

I agree about the sense of realism point. Early into GLB I read other people's articles and I thought that it would be an interesting thing to do. So I decided to take on the responsibility of doing them. When I was owner of my previous organization I found it difficult to keep up with doing these write-ups, but after selling the team I have found more time to devote to this.
