yea it's weird, he gets his hands on him once then he bounces right off, i'm guessing that DE has an absolute shit ton of agility. i've noticed the super super high agility DEs bounce off players and then make plays either in the pass or the run...saying that low strength high agility DEs should get run on hasn't worked for me..

You have to taken into consideration, that the DE I was going against in that play/game has a very good build. He had 12 sacks the game before and 14 sacks the game after. Mind you those weren't 100+ point plus victories, only ~60 point wins... but how different would those games have looked without giving up all those sacks?
I think my OT's biggest issue, is the low level of protector. I've only been playing LT this season, against the better speed rushers, because my attributes are considerably better than our regular LT's attributes. Although, the LT can handle decent speed rushers, due to protector. He just can't handle the well built agility/speed freak DEs. Hell, I can barely handle them, even with a TE/RB helping me block.
Overall, I think the current set-up is fair for the most part... I should give up a sack here and there, especially if I don't give the QB extra blockers against well built speed rushers. It's definitely better than earlier in this season, when DEs were running right past me untouched on a good percentage of plays.
P.S. As for the too much strength debate... I don't think too much strength is a problem. My OT has kind of low blocking for an LT TBPH. I think that if my blocking was 70-80+, that block would have been much different. That actually looked like a fine effort by the offense, 8 rushed and 7 picked up all of them... if my OT had higher blocking the QB would have had more time and maybe burnt them for a long TD.

Well anyone that has 5+ protector speak up, and tell us if it's working for you

it's working very well for our LT. He's having a very good season, his base attributes aren't quite as good as my tackle's, but his protector is very high and he hasn't had hardly any problems this season.

That's not too much strength, it's too little blocking. You had enough speed/agility to stay in front of him but he beat your block easily.

I am having the same problem as well. But with LT its way diffrent from RT.
Because they blitz the left side more with LBs. Like this goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=219970&pbp_id=6127496 My guy drops the DE and goes for the LB.
They need to add something so you can target a specific guy. Here is another one goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=219970&pbp_id=6127753

what good is shock block when you can't get turned in time to get in front of the end in the first place? Assuming that you are quick enough to get your hands on him enough to "shock" him, you've already slowed him down enough that you don't need to worry about whatever benefit it is that shock block supposedly provides. The point isn't to incapacitate or hold the block all day, it's to give the one or two extra seconds that QBs aren't getting right now.
The specials for tackles (other than protector) are essentially worthless because they only work ONCE THE TACKLE HAS THE END ENGAGED which is the entire problem in the first place, tackles are simply unable to engage 60 speed, 80-90 agility ends without having at least 70 agility themselves.
I have a DE who's 60 in speed/strength, and is 80+ in agility. He doesn't have an impact in games. His shed block is 7, and tunnel vision is 5, but still no love. I think the new settings have killed the old DE builds. Let me know if you guys have any more info on this.

Those numbers sound like theyy are not quite enough for CPL. In the average AAA or certainly AA league, you would be shredding. The CPL game is a little too fast for your DE's attributes. It's a very fine line.

My DE has 62 strength, 76 speed, 75 agility and his pass rushing tree is 5-5-7-5-2. I've moved EQ around a few times, trying the 80+ route, in each of those attributes. The most success I've had, has been with my current build.
There are games where I'll be shut down completely, but TBPH my build isn't very good, with how the system is currently designed.
I would say that your agility allows you to shed blocks, but you don't have the speed necessary to do anything afterwards (other than run right back into the blocker). I also agree that the level of competition might be a little too high for you.

DE's have traditionally neglected vision, which now allows you to get the fast jump so you can get around that corner.
