Does he only come in on running plays? You may want to put at least one point in the pass block SA. You can't have too much agility.

Nice build. I agree with McFadden on the agility, but, I probably wouldnt touch the pass rush Sa's until agility was at the 61 cap, or at least in the mid 50's. Also blocking is so close to the 67 cap that I'd cap it.

I also am not a big fan of just a single point in any trees. I really don't think they have any noticable effect until they get to the 3 or 4 level, that being said you'll burn up alot of XP working on that tree, when I think agility would be a better return on those points. Not to contradict mcFadden, it's definately a matter of opinion, just my thoughts on it.

thanks...he is a full time LG on a run heavy team that does want to incorporate a bit more passing this year. My questions are;

1. Are pass SA's really necessary, or can one get away with being a run block specialist and suffice with good strength/blocking in the pass block game.

2. What are all the 'caps'. I could see if it were 50, 60, 70, 80 but i'm confused as you say 61 is a cap. Where are all these lvls set at?

i've had the idea that low levels in SA's are pretty pointless and they are only effective when they hit 5 and up. I don't see why I should waste pts in pass block SA's if I'm not going to get them above 5.

I lost my link to the specific numbers, but caps are the values at which the skill points required to increase an attribute by 1 go up by one point. ie
0 to 48.51 - 1 point
to 61.07 - 2 points
to 68.xx - 3 points
note that these are approximate values, I've forgotten the actual hard numbers.

As far as pass blocking SAs, I find them to be generally ineffective aside from pass block (the first SA) itself. And I disagree about needing a certain level in the SA for it to work. It's an established fact that some of them have diminishing levels of returns the more points you put in. In particular there is a noticeable difference in certain SAs at 0 and 1 (ie "the wall" for DTs). I honestly can't say for pass block because I never considered not even a single point in it, nor have I seen such a player. It's up to you. It would theoretically help you hold your blocks longer on pass plays. If I had to guess I'd say it's a +5% hold block chance at 1, and an increase to that (less than an additional 5%) with every additional point.

I should have mentioned i do have an advanced equipment that has a hold block which is currently +6%. Dunno how good that is, but I have it.
