I'm not happy with the Pirates' schedule.
Preseason games against:

We can't gauge our game plan from these two teams.
Our interconference game:

A team that outlevels us by ten levels.

Dont make excuses. Just go out there, play your best, and you'll be fine. You guys are underleveled against most teams in this division, so some games are going to be like that. Who knows though, you may supurise some people.

Who's making excuses for something? I'm just stating my distaste for our schedule in a thread started about it, where the OP said they got lucky.

Barbary Coast is a slow build team, eh? I'm on one myself and 10 levels isn't all that much to overcome with a slow built squad. I spent this off season looking for a SS and it was tough to find a level 27-32 SS that could match my level 22 slow built player. Just check the scouting bars...they have skills in the right areas.

Being a slow build team doesn't mean they're better than other teams. They'll probably be better later, if they know what they're doing, but builds are going to be very incomplete.
Anyone that puts any stock in scouting bars is a fool.
There are half a dozen teams in Lion conference that are ten levels higher than the rest of the conference. And since they're 29 or higher, they've got nothing to lose by boosting early, while the lower level teams would be stupid to not wait until the end of the season.
If any of those six teams loses to a lower level team, they should be thoroughly embarrassed.
