God damn DE's, pain in the ass with their speed and their agility. Why the hell did we get strength to 80, if they were going to stick at the soft cap?

Anyway, do we OT's need soft capped speed and if so, what level? Our turning radius should be shorter than a DE (whole shortest line is straight) and agility should determine our short term, lateral speed.

So, soft-cap speed or second cap agility?

both eventually.

heh - we agree.

Agility to the second cap and speed to the first...eventually. We'll see how the evasive nerf works out soon enough.

Speed doesn't get points every level, so there's no real priority to get it to 48. Leaving it at 45, if 45 seems to be enough makes perfect sense.

Just get it as high as you think you need, in order to not get beat.

ugh thank you, somebody agrees with me that 48 isn't the magic number.

agility hardly gets any per level, too, why is 60 so special? I plan to bring my OTs agility to about 55 and leave it there. I'll bring speed to about 40. Seriously, 40 speed is fast, an OT shouldn't need 48 speed.

After level 30, the level gains are so worthless except on stamina and tackling - neitehr of which you want particularly high. Just build for your team and to do well. The time to abuse the caps is before level 30. Before level 22, actually, but from 22 to 30 might as well cap stuff you can. If your build hasn't leveled by 30, just do what you need as the time comes.

yeah get both agi/speed up to around the first softcap is my advice too.

Agi more important probably.

actually I have been trying to make the point that it's a waste to have more than 35-40 speed, even as a pulling guard, for quite a while now.

It's not because of the level bonuses, but that the cost-benefit drops precipitously after 48 (or 61). So it serves as a good demarcation point for dealing with amped up evasive rushers. If you don't have any of those in your conference, then there's probably no pressing need.

Looks like speed isn't going to be needed for OTs much with this new pathing update. Still have to see screen plays though

Today's games were pathetic. DE's are 100% ineffective. As to where to put points, I'm totally baffled. I PLANNED on taking spd to 40 and agility to 55, but I may be happy with them at their current 32/51, and moving on to stamina (I have no backup...) and confidence or something, if this is how DEs are going to be this season.

My point wasn't about the optimal numerical value for speed, but rather "why pick 48." I understand it is the point when the value of getting it up greatly diminishes, based on cost, but I'd also rather have +1 on a minor like vis/conf than take spd from 47->48, due to lack of natural level gains.
