The talent pool at our level keeps getting thinner. Eventually teams are going to have no choice to settle for lower level players, and there will be a handful of really dominant teams.

And a lot of the FAs at our level have really bad builds. I've seen CBs w/ less than 70 in speed, and LBs w/ no strength.

In a case like that the hole would have to collapse around the QB. Once he starts to scramble he'll have to be the OLBs as well as the DBs. Even WRs with huge speed have to get by the safeties. I agree, speed is something that is important to get to a decent number, after that skills in catching, carrying, and abilities will take precedent.

The NITES dont recruit, so our offseason has been pretty quiet. We brought over a couple of our own guys to replace a couple players.

Yeah, but you don't want a DB w/ 60 speed covering a WR w/ 85+

that CB can still be very effective. The offense has to run all deep passes to utilize that speed and if they do that they are likely to be sacked quite a bit.

You don't have to throw very deep to burn a 60-speed DB. I got to watch a teammate get beaten last season with 70-speed, and a lot of them came on short hitches.
