Franklin Dixon might write an article about it while he's in Seattle, but I just wanted to get some opinions on the matter of closed and open builds. General comments and position-specific comments are welcome!

My personal opinion is that the only builds even remotely worthy of closing are HBs, WRs, FSs, SSs and MLBs. I also think that even with open builds, it is very hard to take advantage for those builds, unless they're min-max builds. I'll go more in-depth if I write the article.

I think the only builds that need closed are shitty ones..........if your player is strong nothing the other team can do.......if he is weak, he can be exploited.

It sounds to me like Bort will start making it possible to exploit certain positions as the AIs become more and more robust.

builds are really to predictable to matter in most cases

Look at the best build you have seen or even your players builds and try to exploit that... and there ya go?

I think the key is not the ability to exploit particular builds, but finding ways to exploit how your opponent uses his builds. Where each of us uses our different builds at WR or CB is very important (IMHO). With the changes to the OAI coming up in SEason 6, this will be more important at many positions.

I'm going to say builds need to be closed, especially when position battles can be set. just one example is if a dc knew the speed/agility of a o-lineman then he'd know which side to attack with his speed end.
