No comments this time huh, Asshats? I do have to say I admire the fact that this time you actually talked some smack before the game (a bit tougher than talking after a win). I'm sure we'll meet again down the road & good luck until then.

It never has in the history of college or professional football because it's impossible to complete all the physical actions in that amount of time. It's physically impossible.

Check out this play from the Saints game today. Now, it was the first box score I went through, but I am sure there are others

2-6-NO 24 (:38) (Shotgun) 9-D.Brees pass incomplete deep middle to 83-B.Miller (42-C.Hart).
3-6-NO 24 (:35) (Shotgun) 9-D.Brees pass deep left to 16-L.Moore ran ob at NO 43 for 19 yards.

Now, is it just me, or did that play take three seconds? So there you go - the entire basis of your argument is false. I am sure you will try to find a way to discount this play or minimize it instead of just admitting you are wrong. But there it is

Damn, I was bored so I looked into one more box score...
from the Cardinals game:

1-4-CAR 4 (8:25) 13-K.Warner pass incomplete short right to 11-L.Fitzgerald.
2-4-CAR 4 (8:23) 32-E.James up the middle to CAR 1 for 3 yards (96-T.Brayton).

eff me - a two second play. what is this world coming to?

You'd make a good politician.

The 1st was a shotgun play...so the QB didn't have to drop back at all.
And did you find any games where there were 6-7 of these plays in one drive?

I just think the point is that a 2-3 second play once in a while is certainly not unheard of, but to have so many in 1 drive was a bit out of hand. But this game is still a work-in-progress so there will be some stuff like this in sims that light up the forums every once in a while.

First, I find it thoroughly amusing how you decide to take this to PMs supposedly because you didn't want to disrupt the forums anymore. Changing your mind shows that it wasn't about disrupting things at all, but you being embarrassed about getting your ass kicked in the argument. Now that you feel like you have a valid point to make, you're right back to posting things in the thread instead of just through PMs. Hilarious.

Now as for that play, here is the response I sent to you in the PM:

>> Now, is it just me, or did that play take three seconds?

Technically, yes it did, but you're the one being intellectually dishonest by not acknowledging the circumstances of that play. On that play the pass was ruled intercepted and play therefore continued with the clock running down to 24 seconds. That ruling was then overturned as it was decided that Gregory did not make the catch. At that point the referee arbitrarily decided how to reset the clock. So while you are correct that the play ultimately was listed as taking three seconds in the game log, that's not because it was actually recorded as taking three seconds when the play happened. That's what time they reset the clock to after the interception was overturned. Meanwhile notice that no other pass in that game was listed as having taken three seconds.

Now that one is actually a valid example. So yes, you are correct and I am wrong about it being possible for a play to be recorded as taking 2 or 3 seconds. However, that does not change the fact that you are wrong and I am correct about it being usual. You found one example of it happening in real life, whereas it happens all the time in GLB. In that way it's similar to the old argument people were having about QB interceptions. Some people (who knew they were wrong but wanted to keep things as they were) argued that because one college quarterback in 1969 had thrown nine interceptions in a game, that it was reasonable for that to happen regularly in Goal Line Blitz. But while it can happen, if GLB purports to be a realistic simulation of real life football then it should be incredibly rare. Bort made the change to interception probability because he agreed. Hopefully he'll do the same with pass times.

From the Niners game:

2-6-SF 46 (1:56) 14-J.O'Sullivan pass short left to 21-F.Gore pushed ob at SEA 46 for 8 yards (56-L.Hill). Caught at SF 49.
1-10-SEA 46 (1:53) 14-J.O'Sullivan pass incomplete deep left to 82-B.Johnson.

From the Giants game:

1-10-NYG 26 (9:53) 10-E.Manning pass incomplete short left to 17-P.Burress (24-I.Taylor).
2-10-NYG 26 (9:50) 27-B.Jacobs left tackle to NYG 28 for 2 yards (99-B.Keisel, 24-I.Taylor).

1-10-PIT 10 (1:48) (Shotgun) 7-B.Roethlisberger pass incomplete short left to 14-L.Sweed.
2-10-PIT 10 (1:46) (Shotgun) 7-B.Roethlisberger pass incomplete short middle to 85-N.Washington (98-F.Robbins).

From the Eagles game:
1-10-ATL 44 (13:27) 2-M.Ryan pass incomplete short left to 84-R.White (24-S.Brown).
2-10-ATL 44 (13:24) 33-M.Turner left tackle to ATL 45 for 1 yard (58-T.Cole).

Now, I have looked in five box scores and found examples in every one. And those are just from yesterday. Something tells me that if looked in every box score in the history of NFL and college football, I would find a million examples.

I failed to complete Zeta due to time issues. I didn't even finish Alpha. doing both leagues is WAY too much for one person who has other things to do. My apologies to Zeta. And to Alpha defenders. I guess next season (assuming we're all still here) we need to appoint 4 people to do the Pro Bowl selections. Or one person with nothing but time on their hands.
