So it looks like the top 8 of Zeta went a combined 5-3 against alpha.

The top 4 teams of Zeta went 4-0. Top 6 went 5-1.

Does this conclude the Zeta vs. Alpha debate? Zeta is stronger at the top and Alpha is deeper?

Zeta is both stronger and deeper, and has been throughout the history of WEA #3. The #5 seed in Zeta beat the #1 seed in Alpha by 23 points.

I don't know if it determines anything definitively, but I do still think Zeta is better than Alpha. Lewisburg held the Owls to less rushing than Marcy or Lochness did. Does that mean anything? No. Interconference games are harder to gameplan, because you have nothing to go off of really. Sure you have stats against other teams, but unlike in conference games, you can't compare them. If Team A and Team B beat team C in Alpha, and Team D beats A and B, Team D has a good idea of how to beat team C (in theory). But if Teams A, B and C are in the other conference, Team D has no clue what to do against team C.
Is Zeta stronger than Alpha? More than likely. But as stated last season, we can't really judge interconference games. Dublin lost to Marcy, possibly the best team in Zeta, by 1 point. We stomped Dublin. Just proof that you can't prove that these games mean anything except to finalize seeding.

How are interconference games harder? You have 16 games to scout from and access to the same information as every other team, you have the largest body of information to pull from seeing as how its the last game of the season.

Munich Owls arent in the top 8 of Zeta (no disrespect).

I thought dublin lost 23-17 to Marcy.

They aren't, but LL will say anything.

Correct, and only by that margin because Dublin scored a touchdown with 1:09 left in the game. That said, Dublin is a tough team and really should have finished higher in the conference standings than they did. I do think that WEA3 Alpha is a good conference by WEA standards, but Zeta is ridiculous.

I would agree with all of that. Alpha is a good conference for sure.

Just lost to Lewisburg.
No disrespect but you're going to need more than that to overcome Zeta.
Not saying you haven't got more but you'd better bring it if you have.

Yes you have 15 games of teams that you don't know how you stack up against. Like I know how we stack up against Dublin, Tottenham, Vienna and the rest of Alpha. For instance. If player A can blitz well against Dublin well, and I have a better blitzer on my team, I know that my blitzer can blitz well against Dublin. We can't compare things like that with Zeta teams unless they have builds open of every player on every team. I'm not saying Zeta is worse, it is better. But you can't judge how much better by these games.

Your right Earl, we need to bring more. But in all fairness, we didn't gameplan at all for you guys. Not because we didn't want to, but both of our coordinators were away for this game. If we make the championship game this will not be the case.

About the Dublin game, I thought it was closer than that, my memory is horrible. But the final score is the final score, no matter how the game goes. 23-17 is still very close.

Well.. my sister, who had 5 mins to spare between High School Musical and Mamma Mia! rustled up a D game plan on the back of her Dr Who note pad and still managed to limit you to 4 TD's. :lol

But seriously, all the best for the play offs.
I always cheer the underdog.

That is what I was going to say if we lost to Vienna =)
