Good afternoon, guys! Just three-and-a-half hours until the games SIM, and I'm as anxious as anyone to see the results. I'm foregoing my playoff report this week, as ALL 8 Zeta playoff teams have clinched a spot. However, I will run down the scenarios for the playoff positioning, which isn't as clear. Let's let 'er rip!
------------------------------------------------------------

Playoff Scenarios:

1. Tonga Thunderbirds
Clinched 1st place; clinched home-field advantage throughout Zeta playoffs.

2. Christchurch Knightmares
Clinched 2nd place; clinched home-field advantage for first two rounds.

3. El Fuego, 12-3
Clench 3rd, with: El Fuego win OR Bandits loss OR Fuego loss/Chinese loss/Four Horsemen loss
Clench 4th, with: Four Horsemen loss/Chinese win OR El Fuego loss/Chinese loss/Four Horsemen win (points scored)
Clench 5th, with: El Fuego loss AND Chinese win AND Horsemen win

4. Chinese Bandits, 12-3
Clinch 3rd, with: Chinese win AND El Fuego loss
Clinch 4th, with: Chinese loss OR El Fuego win OR Four Horsemen loss
Clench 5h, with: Chinese loss AND El Fuego loss AND Four Horsemen win (points scored)

5. The Four Horsemen, 11-4
Clench 3rd, with: Four Horsemen win AND El Fuego loss AND Chinese loss (points scored tiebreaker)
Clench 4th, with: Four Horsemen win AND El Fuego loss
Clench 5th, with: Four Horsemen win OR Solomon Islands loss
Clench 6th, with: Four Horsemen loss AND Solomon Islands win

6. Solomon Islands Alchemy, 10-5
Clench 5th, with: Solomon Islands win AND Four Horsemen loss
Clench 6th, with: Solomon Islands win OR Dunedin loss
Clenth 7th, with: Solomon Islands loss AND Dunedin win

7. Dunedin Wolverines, 9-6
Clench 6th, with: Dunedin win AND Solomon Islands loss
Clench 7th, with: Dunedin loss OR Solomon Islands win
Clench 8th, with: Dunedin loss AND Mauna Kea win

8. Mauna Kea Chenabogs, 8-7
Clench 7th, with: Mauna Kea win AND Dunedin loss
Clench 8th, with: Mauna Kea loss OR Dunedin win

We're seriously bummed over in Redscape. We really expected to be contenders this season... for the playoffs definitely and possibly for even a home game.

Not sure where to go from here...

Glad to be of service! I hope I can have time to do something else as the playoffs are going along!

Redscape didn't do terribly, finishing at 7-9. That's certainly much better than anyone thought you'd be at 1-7.

Here's some tips I've found useful:

1. Builds first, levels second.
I've seen Level 25 CBs with 70 speed, 35 agility, 50 stamina, 20 tackling, and points loaded in SAs. I've seen Level 18 CBs with 60 speed, 55 agility, 30 stamina, 30 tackling, and points distributed into important SAs. Which one's going to be the better CB? Finding those diamonds in the rough can help teams turn around quickly.

2. Go hard after FAs: be detailed and honest.
Try to connect with those agents through PMs. You likely already do this, so this is probably superfluous. Regardless, lay out the situation, and sell your team hard to them. Start early. Heck, I've already started for Season 6. Dedicate a good deal of time to it, and you'll get there.

3. Don't be afraid to open the wallet for a big time player, but don't sell your soul.
Take a chance by offering an agent a higher contract. Show the agents that you're willing to go the extra mile for them. But don't pay $200K for a Level 15 CB, either. Take a chance and go for it; you won't be disappointed.

I hope this helps, and I don't mind if everyone uses it. I'd rather help those who really want the help than hoard it like a company secret.

Well, all of the Redscape agents are friends from another website... we haven't decided if we're ready / willing to open the team to other agents yet.

We'd really like to sort out our builds and go with who we have... bringing along some key improvements through our own system. The problem is, we didn't know how to build some players at the beginning. For example, my FS is a level 31, but probably worse than average for that level. We've debated going with the nuclear option and recreating our entire team from scratch... but have decided against it for now.

Ah, I see.

I understand, I didn't build players very well when I was a noob, either. My kicker's a little worse off than I'd like him to be. Whichever path you choose, I wish you the best on it.
