Ok, I'll bite. Perhaps unbeknownst to the rest of the conference, but I am very glad Bears took over the team because he was (is) genuinely qualified to take over. Back when we first received our teams, we recruited a low level CB to be our KR/PR, and the agent was the owner of a very successful, unbeaten team. He slowly brought over more of his own players, then at the eleventh hour agreed to take over this team.
Seriously, I was THIS close to selling off the team to a random owner. Literally hours away. Bears stepping up was awesome because I knew he was once a team owner and that he knew what it entailed. If there were numerous people that applied, then he would have been at or near the top of the list, no question.
So yeah... it may seem like he inherited a power team, but he was in this position long before I ever was.
Bears and I sold off a power team after season 3, it only makes sense that if we were to come back it would be with a power team. I guess ive never taken over a completely crappy team, but we worked our asses off to make Superior a highly reckognized organization...im willing to bet we would be sitting on the brink of AAA right now had we stuck with that team, but our time ran thin with just me and bears running the show and i couldnt find guys (quality guys) willing to step up to the plate and help us out...
Anyways, rip on bears for buying a quality team but we have already gone through the hoopla of taking a team of nothing to the top. Just give us a damn championship already!
