We had some tight games and some crazy games in the playoffs. A weird cocktail of the unexpected and under achievement. lol

Maybe you won't agree, but I think losses of that nature have a lot to do with complacency. You were easily the best team in the league the last 2 seasons and last year you only had one tough game and winning becomes so routine that you start slacking on the game planning, and then it bites you in the ass.

It almost happened to my team last season. We lost our very first season game by 1 point and then dominated the rest of the way. We had what we thought was a good defense, but in reality it wasn't tested like it should have been. About 3 weeks before the playoffs, we played Springfield, a good team but they were like 6th in the league and ONLY ran the ball. We knew exactly how they would attack us and we threw out our untested run stopping defense.

They ran all over us that game, and luckily, we still barely won somehow. It was a wake up call that we couldn't just be complacent, because if a team game plans good against you, they can make up a deficit in talent. It then led us to setup a whole new defense, and test it out with several scrims, tweaking it after every scrim.

We played Springfield round 1 of the playoffs and the game was completely different. Good thing we played them earlier and they woke us up, because if not, we might have lost the first round of the playoffs.

They might not admit it, but I think the Swedish Stackers were the same way last season. They were blowing everyone out the whole way and were never really tested. Then, here comes the Championship game against us, a team that was about on par talent wise, maybe slightly lower. We knew this would be the Championship game and we wanted a crack at the untouchable, so we had game planned for this game half way into the season. I bet the Stackers didn't put in nearly as much time as they should have against us, because they got complacent, and we ended up with the better game plan and won the Championship game.

This is a very good write up and I totally agree with it.
However, I would like to suggest another possibility. Maybe the Kows didn't get complacent last year, maybe they got side tracked by all those teats.

Also, since Cows boosted early and we did late boosting last season, there was some element of surprise involved and our regular season game meant nothing come playoff time.

I wouldn't worry about the Volgograd one much. 14 times out of 15 when a team out gains the other by 120+ yards they win.

Other game was one of those pro football style overtime format lamenesses where one team never got the ball. Definitely have some stuff we learned from that one.

disappointing ones but I think the Look will have things ready to go for the playoffs.
