GG Oslo.

I agree that PGL's not that bad... your ratings are really tough to read... you out level us at most positions, but your players have really low ratings - but then your level 34 quarterback with an awful rating still puts up good stats against almost everybody (467 yards and 4 touchdowns with no picks and 70% completion against Eurotrash?).

No idea where your ratings are coming from, and why you're so inconsistent week to week, but you're better than 4-6.
I just don't get how you can put up 46 against Eurotrash and 41 against Bonn, and then get held to 3 against Massilion - their defense is getting a lot better, but it's not THAT good yet

Methinks PGL is full of non-traditional builds and/or heavily filled with SAs.

And good game Whitechapel. Game was very much up for grabs and we got the benefit of the turnovers and put it away.

WOC hit the nail on the head. Our builds are all over the place. Some of the builds are definitely outside the norm too as an experiment on my part. I've learned not to pay much attention to the scouting bars or player levels. You're better off just judging how a team performs against similar opponents and what that team does that works best.

I was also surprised to put up those numbers against Euro and Bonn. I take the blame for some of the Massillon game since I don't have much experience with the AI yet and I took them for granted and used the game to test some settings. They shut us down easy though so I wouldn't take their defense lightly.

I did the same against you, as far as taking you for granted... I'm our DC, and while I usually keep the same basic defense, I usually do some tweaking based on opponent tendencies and such. I had a busy couple days so took the game against you off except for looking at your general pass/run numbers and such. Probably a bad choice combining that with starting to talk in the forums

My only concern with a team, or least a bunch of players, built on experimental builds or SAs is that I would think it would end up as boom or bust. For instance, if such builds were really successful they would get attention and likely be nerfed, who knows, perhaps many of things you thought you were on to have been nerfed already. An experimental build is almost like playing bort as if he were a stock market these days. He could change things up any day he wants and you and your team could be hanging in the lurch with a long time needed to catch up, though at the same time you could 'thread the needle' one season and make people look foolish. I applaud you guys for trying it, but it's too risky for me personally. I'm banking on a very balanced build in the 'common sense' atty's for each position eventually winning bort's favor, but who knows how that's going to turn out.

Anyone who scouts PGL has to marvel that they have done so well given their 'scouting bars'. You guys are the exception when it comes to overachieving if you just look at that one aspect of the game. Meanwhile, a bunch of teams have been 48's overall for some time yet teams have drastically different results.

Yeh the Stags have 48 bars and we cant seem to get a break! We lose constantly by like 3 points. We are just very unlucky PGL are a hard team to play and i hate planning for the matchups with them!

Thanks all the players from Bonn, we tried to give you guys a battle. We held our own for a little while, but in the end, the better team won. Hopefully we will put a good string together now like last season and get into the Post season on a winning note. We have a tough road though with Oslo and Massilon yet in conference though. We are really hoping our playoff chances don't ride on that last game, as we got a tough draw this season in Edinburgh. You guys are solid, good luck as you move forward!

I agree that it's risky playing around with the builds. But when you look at the way Borts nerfed certain things already, basically leaving guys scrambling to fix their builds, it's really not as risky as it sounds at first. We had a really nice power back build getting started last season until Bort nerfed the power backs. I expect at some point he'll nerf speed DE's after making them so much more effective last season. You just never know which way it's going to go. We do still have customary builds on the team though so it's not like we experiment everywhere. And of course we have some guys who's builds are just bad but we're trying to help them fix the builds which could bite us in the ass if it takes too long.
