Game of the Week:
Dayton <FNA> vs Athens Nighthawks
Classic game will go down as one of the best games ever. The Nighthwaks where the first on the board after a scoreless first quarter. Then Dayton went on a 7 minute 27 second drive to tie the game up at 7.t The following drive the Nighthawks went three and out and were forced to punt. Dayton then went on a drove that eventually ended in a interception by David Crowder. The Nighthawks however were not able to captialize on the turnover and went three and out. Then Dayton went on another drive but the Nighthawks where able to force the turnover again. The Nighthawks got the ball back with a minute to go in the half but where unable to have time to kick the field goal. It was a tie game at the half at 7 points a piece. Dayton got the ball to start the third quarter but went a quick three and out. The Nighthawks got the ball back at thier own 29 and went on 5 minute 31 second drive that ended in Vince Jack TD. Dayton then when on another log drive that ended in a Deeetroit Basketball TD. The Nighthawks got the ball back at the end of the third and took it all the way down to Dayton's 28 yard line to have the drive stall and have to settle with a Guy Icognito FG. Dayton then answered back quick with a FG of their own. The Nighthawks got the ball back with 9:53 to go in the fourth and went on a long scoring drive. Dayton had to answer quickly and they did connecting with Burner McFly for the passing TD. The Nighthawks then went into their two minute drill that they practice everyday and kicked a FG with 28 seconds to go. Dayton still had a chance to try something with 25 seconds left on the clock but they were unsuccessful and got their first loss of the season.
Burnt Orange Rising vs. Arlington Avalanche
Everyone's favorite team BOR winning streak stopped here. BOR was the first to score in this high scoring game. Then Avalanche when on 21-0 run to take the big lead. BOR went into half time down 31-14. Both teams went back forward in the third quarter scoring 14 points a piece. Onto the fourth quarter BOR really need to step it up here and they did. BOR held Avalanche scorless in the forth but BOR was unable to score enough points to walk away the winner.
Helsinki Devils vs. Amsterdam Smokers
The second close game of the week. The Smokers who loss two weeks ago to BOR were still venting their about their loss and took it out on a helpless Devils team which has dropped three games in a row. Amsterdam was the first to score when they kicked a FG late in the first. The Devils answered quickly with a FG of their own only a minute later. Tied game going into the second quarter. The Devils were the first to put up 7 points when they scored a rush by Tank Rush. Amsterdam then got the ball back but had the drive stall and was forced to kick the FG. The Devils got the ball back with a minute and 55 seconds on the clock and they managed to kick a FG before the end of the half. The score was 17-6 going into the half. Wyrebel went into the locker room and told his players that they needed to step it up a notch or they were going to get themselves another loss. They came back from the half fired up and took the kickoff 98.5 yards for the TD. The Devils got the ball back and went a quick three and out. The Smokers got the ball back and went on a long drive that ended in an Ralph Bean FG. The Devils answered back with a TD with 2:26 to go in the third quarter. Going into the fourth the score was 24-16. Amsterdam then put 14 unanswered points in the fourth to put this one away and walk away with the win.
Oslo Norsemen vs. Canterbury Crimson Crusaders
Olso Norsemen having been a sinking ship and haven't won a game all season. CCC comes in with only one loss and looks to avenge their loss to BOR and show everyone they mean business. CCC was the first to score and they went on to a 17-0 run. Olso finally got on the board with 1:34 to go in the half. Olso went in the half only down 10 points and still very much alive. When CCC got back from the half they cranked it up a notch and went on a 21-0 run. Olso finally gets another score with 7:36 to go in the game. CCC ends the game with 2 TDs in the final 11 seconds of the game.
AAA Huskies vs. Amsterdam Red Lights
AAA Huskies have a great owner and have yet to be shutout yet this season. Amsterdam Red Lights was the far better team today opening up the game with 88-0 run. AAA looked to keep their streak alive and scored 8:38 to go in the game. Amsterdam scored their final TD with 6:57 to go in the game. AAA will be a great team in a season or two but Amsterdam is ready to compete now.
Manchester Drunken Monkeys vs. Eintracht Frankfurt
Monkeys get lucky this week and draw the CPU team. Nothing much to say here the Monkeys lay it on thick 155-0.
Bastogne Bastards vs. Brussels Sprouts
Two great teams here that are rebuilding and should be looking good next season. Bastards were the first to strike with Elvis Goodcatch TD in the first quarter. Brussel Sprouts then answered back 5 minutes later with jack deisel TD. With 12:12 to go in the second quarter Brussel Sprouts scored with a B GAS TD. Bastards answered back with a TD of their own only 4 minutes later. Brussel Sprouts then went a quick three and out. The Bastards got the ball back and scored quickly with a Neal Costello TD. Brussel Sprouts then went on a log drive that ended in an Scott27 Scott TD. Bastards were however able to take the ball down the field quickly again and kick a field goal right before the half. Bastards had the lead 33-20 going into the half. Brussel Sprouts went on an 14-0 run in the third to take the lead going into the fourth 34-33. The Bastards anwsered back in the fourth with a Jon Luc Cousteau TD. Brussel Sprouts then got the ball back and went on a log drive that ended in a Derek Carter TD with 3:49 to go in the fourth. Bastards scored their final TD of the game with 1:07. The Bastards lose in a close one with the Brussel Sprouts.
Easy Company vs. Dallas Terror
Easy has a great team assemble the chemistry is just killing them right now. Dallas Terror is in the middle of rebuilding so this was "easy" pickings for Easy Company. Easy Company rolls 118-0 in their win over Dallas Terror.
