When's the last time you heard someone say "offense wins championships"? I do hear that "defense wins championships" a lot though and the SEC has the meanest, fastest, nastiest defenses out there. No friggin way Missou beats LSU, that's just ridiculous. Big 12 defenses are like swiss cheese. Why do you think the offenses in the Big 12 can be so ridiculously explosive and put up so many points? Because the defenses aren't that great, that's why.
I definitely think that the Big 12 and SEC are the only 2 conferences that should be mentioned in the "best conference" argument but I think the SEC has definitely got the edge because of defense.

I don't know if anybody caught the last few minutes of the NU game last night, but the refs totally cost us the game. How is it possible that ACC refs are allowed to ref a game that an ACC team plays? They called a bs late hit call that gave VaTech a 1st down when it would've been 4th down. NU would've had the ball left with 4 minutes or so. We moved the ball all over them in the 4th, so it would've been plenty of time. Oh, I'm so pissed! Lot of upsets this week!

Florida's loss is a prime example of why the SEC is the best conference in football. You never know when one of the lower tier teams in the conference are going to come out and bite one of the upper tier teams. Not the case in the other conferences. I seriously doubt Texas or Oklahoma are worried about Baylor coming out and biting them.

I think after the last TD I would have kicked the ball deep with 2 time outs. Now if I had 1 or 0 I would have tried an onside kick. I do agree about the refs, the guy was already in the air in my opinion.

HSKRCHMPS and any other Huskers, I'm curious what you all think about the game this weekeend? Can you give Mizzou a run for their money? I saw last night on ESPN that Mizzou hasn't won in Lincoln in 30 years!
Also, is it just me or does it seem too early in conference play for you two to be playing? Seems like it would be a late season rivalry game and not your opener.

We played early last season as well. I don't think we'll win, but should we not get into a shootout, and can slow them down, we'll keep it somewhat close. It won't be like last season. That I can guarantee. Mizzou is the team to beat right now in the Big 12. I'm not sure anybody will be able to do it. There is one thing I'm really holding on to though. Buffalo kept with them until 3rd quarter. Come 4th quarter, it was over. That tells me they found a weakness, and hopefully Bo and company will be able to exploit that.
