Quoting myself here only because this post is the bridge from 15-16, but how did other people vote in Bort's restructuring polls?

None of his options really nailed my thoughts. I like promotion/relegation in general, but hate when gutted teams skew everything.

Do I like a complete restructuring? Absolutely not, I like having a league history. Restructuring completely is lame and takes a lot of rivalry/history out of the game.

Totally agree Wrath. I think I voted to have more movement in the current structure. Take a team like Landstuhl for instance, we could have benefited moving down a league after last season but we didn't, lost our owner, and are now in such financial trouble that we will not be competitive here.

Feel the Same with both comments and voted this way.

Whichever way it goes is a slippery slope. I've been on a brand new team (that had no cap, was the last league not to have one) and we were great. #2 seed and when it came to the playoffs we won our conference and I kind of felt like, DAMN, that wasn't the exact plan.

It meant going into an established league with a brand new team, we were 5 levels behind every team that mattered. Regardless, I love that team, and we stuck together and now we'll be a competitor in this season. Still, it is a lesson that promotion isn't always as great as it sounds and I would argue that if this particular team was grouped with similar teams around its birthday then we would have a stat fest

As messed up as the leagues are, having it this way gives players on teams such as Landstuhl this dream of one daying rising and becoming competitive in a league which has thoroughly whipped you for seasons straight. If leagues were to be restructured and a team like Landstuhl were to become competitive, it would feel as though it was almost handed to us, and therefor not as satisfying.

League restructuring would be great for the game. But it would also take away a sort of accomplishment from actually rising from the ashes to the peak of the mountain. Kind of a twisted way of thinking of things, and certainly a farcry from ever happening. But it's a dream and a goal that would be erased with a restructure.

Kind of a twisted way to look at it, but that's me for you.

Let me try putting it this way. There is a sense of excitement I get every time a new owner comes on board. He tells the team(well, it will be just me this time) his plans and goals, and starts working really hard on recruiting and setting everything up. In no time, he has me and whoever else is on the team amped up about the season, and we start thinking about things that could come. Hell, just two seasons ago, I was envisioning that at this point we would be contending for a playoff spot, and being labeled the surprise of the league. Now we are even lower than before.

I hate the current situation, but being able to think those thoughts I do every time a new owner takes up the poor Rome/Nuremberg/Landstuhl team is always fun. And with a league restructure, what becomes a hope and a glorious quest will only become business, because everybody else has to do the same thing.

I am against restructuring, 2 seasons ago I would have probably been for it because it was a very hard task to take a gutted, broke team in AA 1 and turn them around. Having done it though I know it can be done, and the reward of doing it is worth the trouble.

Gratz, Birmingham. I'm not sure how you guys get so many points off of turnovers or how you took Bohn out of the game, but it's clear to me that you're the class of Zeta this season.

Thanks! You are always a class act as our defense has been on fire this season. We have scored more points on Defense and Special Teams than our opponents have. That is crazy! We finally get a little break after starting the season playing 3 playoff teams from last season.

Upset of the day in Zeta had to be Bushy Park over Edinburgh.

That's just it. I got excited as I was watching the game, and our defense was holding the line really d*mn well. We only put up 6 on offense, but it was looking like we could make that work. Hell, it was basically the 4th quarter before your offense put points on the board. But just as I was allowing that little bit of hope and optimism to get through, your defense took them out back behind the shed...with a dirty shovel.

Nice win, Birmingham. You guys were good last year, but this was something different. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Thanks. It is nice to get the tough games out of the way early in the season. I am not saying we don't have some very tough games because we still do with Italian, Dallas and Inverness. This season Edinburgh looked like the Italian of last year and Brighton looks like Dallas of last season. Man there is really no breaks except the former Lundstuhl Liberty changing the name to Montreal Shamrocks. What the heck are we in Canada or Western Europe?

Best of luck to Dublin the rest of the season as we will meet in the playoffs.

Nice job, Stallions. You were on track to do it until that 48 point 4th quarter.

What's up with allowing 92 yards from a TE though?
