Alpha Week 3

Game of the Week

Pontianak Firebirds 1-1 at Cambodia Mountain Men 2-0 (+3)
Last week’s games:
Pontianak Firebirds vs. Manila Cyberballers 41-28
Salford Storm vs. Cambodia Mountain Men 19-24

The owner’s are proclaiming this one is the Battle for the Old Conch Shell ( http://mountainmen.weebly.com/battle-for-the-old-conch-shell.html ). Both teams coming off wins and the smack talk is flying across the South China Sea. The Firebirds got healthy offensively vs. the Cyberballers, HB Major Rhinehart gave Cambodia fits a season ago and is coming off a 150 yard performance. It was the Cambodian defense that saved the day for them with several stops in the red zone vs. Salford. Going to be a homer here and say the upstart Mountain Men go to 3-0. Pull up a seat and grab your conch shell, this one could get nasty. Mountain Men 31 Firebirds 17.

Other games

Columbus Black Knights 1-1 (+6) at Manila Cyberballers 0-2
Last week’s games:
Columbus Black Knights vs. Mongolian Horde 17-64
Pontianak Firebirds vs. Manila Cyberballers 41-28
Black Knight to queen’s bishop 4, checkmate. Knights by 35.

Algeria Addiction 2-0 (+6) at Phuket Water Dragons 0-2
Last week’s games:
Algeria Addiction vs. Ho Chi Minh Hookers 34-10
Tibet Psychonauts vs. Phuket Water Dragons 30-21
Last week’s lost to Tibet may send the Dragons puffing down by the sea. Playing the Addiction surely can’t help. Addiction by 24

Tibet Psychonauts 1-1 at Mongolian Horde 2-0 (+9)
Last week’s games:
Tibet Psychonauts vs. Phuket Water Dragons 30-21
Columbus Black Knights vs. Mongolian Horde 17-64
Tibet is holding their own in Alpha, but the Horde has the straight jackets waiting for the Psychos. Horde by 40.

Hiroshima Radiation 0-2 at AFEF Hooligans 0-2 (+6)
Last week’s games:
Hiroshima Radiation vs. Krungthep Garudas 0-255
Padang Lightning vs. AFEF Hooligans 104-0
These teams gave up a total of 359 points last week and scored a flat zero. Cumulative score for these two teams in two games: 589-7. Defense is not the name of the game. But neither is offense. AFEF by 14.

Mount Fiji Dogs 0-2 at Krungthep Garudas 2-0 (+12)
Last week’s games:
Mount Fiji Dogs vs. Pingree Grove Pits 6-28
Hiroshima Radiation vs. Krungthep Garudas 0-255
Ok, the Garudas put up 2 ½ centuries of points on the Radiation. The Dogs are about a century better than that. You do the math. Ugly. Garudas by 145

Salford Storm 1-1 (+9) at Pingree Grove Pits 2-0
Last week’s games:
Salford Storm vs. Cambodia Mountain Men 19-24
Mount Fiji Dogs vs. Pingree Grove Pits 6-28
Conference leader Pingree? Who are these guys? The Pits get spit out this week. Storm by 21.

Upset special

Padang Lightning 1-1 (+3) at Ho Chi Minh Hookers 1-1
Last week’s games:
Padang Lightning vs. AFEF Hooligans 104-0
Algeria Addiction vs. Ho Chi Minh Hookers 34-10
The Hookers had the Addiction distracted for a bit last week while the Lightning regrouped after a season opening loss. I suggest that the Lightning bring some protection, I got a feeling that the hookers will be ready to play. Hookers by 7.

We actually put up over 300 points, the scoring mechanism caps out at 1 byte (256, so 0-255) so it shows our score at 255-0, but really we scored over 300.

I can't argue with this prediction, when the overall matchup meter has them favored by about 10 pts. I'll be happy just to keep the score respectable. I would consider 40 pts. respectable against those odds. lol

Nice work Jmarter, we were both 8-0 on the week and with an exact pick. Let's see if we can keep it going in week 4.
