Here's who I think are the Python's budding rivalries:

Springfield Isotopes - after 2 close Python victories by a FG or less, Springfield is eager to take us out behind the woodshed.

Sevastopal Wolverines - After the Pythons devastated Sevastopal's championship hopes, in last season's playoffs, Sevastopal has something to prove!

Cape Town Cubicles - The Pythons vs Cubicles series is tied at 1-1. Both teams have eaked out 14-10 victories, but the Cubicles won the one that counted the most.

The Pythons are bringing their A-Game to everyone we play this season. This has to be one of the toughest leagues, top to bottom anywhere in EE.

Dragasani Dragons vs. Draguignan Dragons 83
Dragasani was here first, draguigan are imitating our mascot, and they are imitating our 3-4. We plan on beating that ass surely as the sun rises.

You do realize 9 of his sacks came from lvl.13 OTs the week before.

And 6 more from a team with a C backing up both OT spots.

Everyone pads their stats. It can't be helped. You play the schedule you're given. I just meant that's gonna be one hell of a show when he plays the wizards, lol. gotta find a way to make up the difference.

yeah but ellis is consistently getting sacks every week (except for 1), whereas the others close in sack totals have a couple 0 weeks, and a majority of their totals from lopsided matchups.

we'll see how the totals look at the end of the season though, should be interesting!

To be totally fair, Ellis doesn't have someone across from him. When you have someone across from you it sort of takes sacks away from the individual (some plays you may break past the OT, but the guy across from you might get the sack first, etc...).

He's a beast for sure though.

What I'm really impressed with is Capetown's duo.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/team_player_stats.pl?team_id=4362&stat=defense&sort=sacks&playoffs=0

They have two guys with 19 sacks, but more importantly, both have over 25 hurries. That's a lot of plays getting disrupted. And that's not even counting all the plays where the hurries aren't counted (game is so weird with that).

Dlight, I am not sure you understand how the DLINE works. First, those two guys on Capetown will never play the same down together. Second, the LDE faces a double team, so he is actually there as a run stopper. Its actually very hard to quantify how good a RDE is or isnt, because much of his best plays will leave with him no stats. He basically blows up running plays and opens up holes for the LBS to get tackles.

Err...

First, I didn't say the example I gave was an example of DEs that play at the same time. I was just pointing them out because they impressed me regardless (and really, more to my point that their disruption is so spread out across so many plays).

Also, LDE can be a pass rusher or a run stopper. It's the team's choice how they want to play the LDE position, and I'm sure for many teams it changes from game to game.

With that said, when I said Ellis doesn't have anyone across from him I didn't mean it to be offensive. I just meant, in terms of sack production he has no one across from him to eat up sacks (not that the LDE across from him isn't good, I'm sure he does his job just fine). I was just saying someone that competes with him on the same play. Obviously Ellis is great regardless, I was just making an observation.
