I awarded a first place vote with 10 points, 2nd with 9, and so on down the line. In the event of a tie an average of the two scores was awarded (ie. tie for 2nd results in an 8.5 for both). Eleven teams participated this week.
After much off season shuffling in the OPL that saw a weekly regular to the top 10 disband; four solid teams in the Melbourne Thorny Devils, Mean Machine, Fiji Stingers, and Grinnell Pioneers move up to the pros; key player additions in Monster Kill, Gordon James, and Deacon Moss (to name a few); and much, much more... Season 5 is finally upon us!!!
Heading into the new season it appears the newly named Banzai Pipeline 'Nites (formerly the FFLW Caninites) are considered the strong favorites despite a preseason bitch slapping from the newly promoted Mean Machine. It looks like the coaches are preparing for some strong competition this year as we had a record 17 teams receiving votes. Also, based on coaches opinion neither Alpha nor Zeta appear to be stronger than the other as both conferences have 5 teams in the top 10 with Alpha receiving nine team considerations to Zeta's eight overall. Many thanks to the reps from the Bandits, IC, MTD, NEBP, Nites, WSI, Gods, Saipan, VK, Mean Machine, and Co-op City for voting!!!!
