Can you count on strength to just push defenders out of the way?

I had a level 4 OT, and in his first game ever, he had four pancakes and I looked at a couple run plays and I pretty much manhandled the defensive ends. That was with a lot of strength and not so much blocking.

What exactly does blocking help with if I can (supposedly) use strength to knock guys back with sheer power?

when you get to higher levels and such, you'll be facing DE's with like 60 strength, 75 speed, 70 agility. look at the player 'Peoples Elbow' had 70+ sacks in a Pro League last season.. i had the luxury of facing him one-on-one last season and later again this season. i had about 69 strength and 64 blocking with 45 agility. he putted up 3 sacks on me and like 7 on my backup. trust me, you'll need more blocking than strength.

Holy hell, I'm glad I'm "only" in an AA league. My level 29 and 27 guards would get crushed. They're both at about 77 strength and 67 blocking.

I tend to think that blocking is for passing plays, and strength is to push people around on run plays, so really just pick your poison.

I could be completely wrong though

(unless a strength DE shows up; but those are rare)
