If you want power hitting then go for it, but it that means other areas will lack as it should be.


What is so good about this guy? He had 8 KL in 30 games his last season.

Yep. That's what I thought too.

Anyways, I think Xars and Adderfist are on the right track here. Base cost adjustment, perhaps strip tech boost or cost of strip tech lowered for cbs, something...I still think a CB specific zone SA would help too. But cost is huge, the value of a S*CB vs S*LB is no question favors the LB.

KL sometimes get counted as PD if that helps

my LB have Coverage LB, Long Reach and natural and my CB have Long Reach, Natural and Sure Tackler

Lowering the base salary of CBs would be a big improvement for the game, imo. Somewhere in the 2.5 to 2.8m range would do so much.

Awareness is much less expensive than the tackling traits so it's attempting to offset the bonus a bit.

Zone awr is 308 without changes to go from 70 to 71.
Tackling tech is 355 from 70 to 71
strip is 663 to 70 to 71
power is 995 for 70 to 71.
Grip is 478 for 70 to 71

The cost of the zone going up is more than worth it.

Hence I mentioned switch LB and CB cost.

Also mentioned it’s a change that should be given with notice because it would cause a shitshow for some teams rosters.

Some could adjust but others would reset.

Generally if you have 4 LBs and 4 CBs it’s a wash but not everyone is in that position.

I think if you swapped LB and CB cost you sink basically every team in the game at the moment. As most teams are running more LBs than CBs regardless of team composition and in general you need more LBs than CBs. CBs should cost less. LBs costing more I think is too much.

Suggestion: Switch the Salaries of LBs and CBs. This makes more "game" sense in that LBs matchup with HBs and CBs matchup with WR. The above also shows how moving FB to Tier 3 (and this may change some of the SP costs) makes sense.

Now this would probably need to be paired with more Zone D plays that provide for formation matchup with 3WR and 4WR TRIPS. Also, it should probably be announced and everyone given at least one season of notice before it goes into effect.



Based on these numbers switching is the most obvious thing.

Should it apply to existing teams, no.

Could they announce it and make it effective in 3,4,5,6 seasons? Sure.

Give people time to adjust. Give time to add in new plays that will work better with more CBs. Give time to adjust Strip Tech, etc.

If everyone knows it’s coming, then it’s fair disclosure.

If you just lower CB salary and don’t touch LBs, then everyone is getting a bump. That’s fine too if they want to go that way, but some teams may get more of a short-term advantage.

It’s not that I’m not for your suggestion; I just think the swap idea has a better chance of being implemented.

I feel even if they adjust this, they need to cap the amount of S* on each team. Limit it to say 5 (random number) then make this adjustment maybe.

Capping s* per team is probably not going to happen.
