CD - have you considered sending out an email to all users past and present giving notice that a new season is about to start? (I mean send it out 1st day of offseason)

We've sent out occasional email blasts, but we have to keep finding new services to do it due to the number of emails bouncing and/or being marked as spam. I'll see if Bort wants to do another one.

Well, that's kind of what the "I've never seen any ads" comments are hinting at. You're not going to see GLB2 ads in place of Clash of Clans ads. They're spending tens of millions every month on ads. While our Facebook ads have helped bring in some new users, it's apparently not enough.
Web based small business advertisement is social media presence. Of which we have 200 followers.
Don't know how much it will help but Ive started posting on the football forums I visit about GLB2.

I kind of wish Bort would have kept doing the Twitter contests, it was at least something to spread the name.

Twitter may work if we can all up out followers and share, Instagram maybe too. I'm not sure how many emails you have on file but you can always hit them up one by one through maybe zoho then just keep unlocking the account when you get locked down.
Whereas a free player is good to start a new account I truly think an adequate subscription would work if it's possible. A free month to start and get them hooked. The game is very good it's just tough to keep the new players. Maybe host a newb bowl or something

Heck we will even structure the leagues for you to make it as close as possible in experience and talent.
No idea how much the variation between X number of teams in different leagues hurts or helps financially, but I know if you offer some sort of incentive for everyone to reset (Full refunds, free superstar points, etc) to get most teams into only 1-2 different leagues, anyone who cares about this game will work with you.
It'll also help competition immensely. While I do enjoy the occasional break from scouting while fighting a CPU team, there is nothing more satisfying then seeing GE cry on the forums after a loss.

What if instead of a free player you get a free team and all player building cost flex? That gives new users a lot to do and incentive to log in everyday for more than 2 minutes. They can spend hours on it the first day creating playbooks and tactics while recruiting coaches and players. They'll be instantly hooked and would want to build players themselves.

Will be a lot of ded teams like that. People quitting after a day or so.

This is how I got back into the game. How many agents have come and gone?

As lolsprites as the replay may look, the actual simulation is running advanced pathfinding algorithms for every player on the field as well as physics calculations every tenth of an in-game second. More teams means more games means more processing power.

I'm not surprised as I gleaned that from your earlier responses.
Here's some quick data regarding LogZilla. We can process up to 70,000 events per second on a single server that costs less than $1,000. Competitors max out at 7,000.
LogZilla: 70,000
Competitors: 7,000
Same processor. Same server. The key is code structure.
